Position Summary: Director of Research and Assessments
The Director of Research and Assessments is a senior leadership role responsible for driving TTWF’s research and assessment strategies to enhance the impact of its e-learning models for K-5 students. This position combines research development, assessment design, team leadership, and data analysis to inform the organization’s learning initiatives and provide actionable insights for continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
Research Development and Management
- Lead the identification of critical research questions to improve e-learning models.
- Develop and implement research strategies and methodologies.
- Conduct and oversee research studies, ensuring scientifically valid data collection and analysis.
- Provide strategic recommendations based on research outcomes.
- Build and mentor a high-performing research and assessment team.
- Achieve key performance indicators (KPIs) related to learner assessments and outcomes.
- Lead the identification of critical research questions to improve e-learning models.
Assessment Design and Implementation
- Oversee the development of high-quality formative and summative assessments for K-5 learners.
- Ensure assessments are aligned with curriculum goals and learning objectives.
- Lead efforts to digitize assessments, integrating them into engaging, gamified learning platforms.
- Strengthen data collection processes for reliability and ease of use.
- Provide hands-on support for on-ground assessment implementation and manage related training materials.
- Oversee the development of high-quality formative and summative assessments for K-5 learners.
Training and Development
- Ensure continuous upskilling of the research and assessment team.
- Develop comprehensive training programs and technical manuals for the proper implementation of assessments.

Analysis, Reporting, and Visualization
- Manage and maintain a robust database for assessment results.
- Utilize data analytics to inform instructional improvements and content delivery.
- Automate data processes and reporting, ensuring accuracy in performance measurement.
- Produce detailed reports for internal and external stakeholders to communicate assessment results and learning trends effectively.

Requirements
- Advanced degree in Education, Research Methods, or related field
- 7-10 years of experience in educational research and assessments, including 3-5 years in a leadership role

- Experience digitizing assessments and integrating them into gamified learning platforms
- Proficiency in psychometric analysis to ensure reliability and validity
- Experience building and maintaining assessment databases and automating reporting/data pipelines
- Ability to build, lead, and upskill a research and assessment team
- Experience developing training programs and technical manuals for assessment implementation
- Strong stakeholder communication and ability to produce/present research reports

It establishes and deploys scalable models of literacy and learning by leveraging digital technology, providing interactive education games via tablets and smartphones to out-of-school children in resource-constrained regions such as Pakistan, Bangladesh, and Malawi.
