Responsibilities
  • Managing and leading the Regional Controlling team (Regional Results and Area Business Partnering Controlling functions) and overseeing all related activities and ensuring smooth execution of functions.

  • Consciously establish a culture that encourages teamwork, team development, systems and AI supported data analytics, customer focus, efficiency, collaboration, and drives process and results improvements.

  • Leading and organizing the annual budget and the quarterly forecasts within the region.

  • Coordinating the monthly closing process and ensuring the correct booking of revenues, costs, accruals, and provisions.

  • Monitoring revenue and cost development, identifying deviations between actual and budgeted figures, and discussing corrective actions with senior management.

  • Preparing regional management for forecast/budget discussions and monthly meetings with the Board.

  • Organizing the annual cost-saving program.

  • Collaborating with group controlling and accounting at our headquarters and all stakeholders in the region and areas on process and results improvement.

  • Evaluating, analyzing and reporting on current year and prior year accrual balances.

  • Monitoring Areas' performance in terms of Cost development and Accruals.

  • Evaluating, analyzing and reporting regional overheads and investments.

  • Providing support to the regional Management decision making process.

  • Leading and cooperating ad-hoc projects / studies.

  • Participating in developing, training and implementation of key Hapag-Lloyd systems.

  • Exchanging best practice with Areas

Qualifications
  • Degree in Controlling/Accounting/Finance

  • Extensive and intense relevant Controlling or Shipping experience within Hapag-Lloyd

  • Good problem-solving and organizational skills

  • Strong analytical skills

  • Good communication skills

  • Good understanding of HL business and policies

  • Sound knowledge of HL systems (SAP / COMPASS / WebFocus / Bex / Power BI / Qlik)

  • Good knowledge MS-Office products (Excel, PowerPoint)

  • Excellent written and spoken English

Skills Required

  • Degree in Controlling, Accounting, or Finance
  • Extensive relevant Controlling or Shipping experience within Hapag-Lloyd
  • Good problem-solving and organizational skills
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Good communication skills
  • Good understanding of Hapag-Lloyd business and policies
  • Sound knowledge of Hapag-Lloyd systems (SAP, COMPASS, WebFocus, BEx, Power BI, Qlik)
