Essential Job Responsibilities/Expectations

  • Plans and administers through subordinate supervisory personnel, the effective management and delivery of diagnostic

  • radiology procedures in accordance with all hospital, state, federal, and agency standards.

  • Develop long and short-range goals and objective working with supervisory staff, Radiologists, and Hospital Administration.

  • Develop capital expense and salary operating budget and implement appropriate methods to monitor compliance and resolve variance.

  • Demonstrates competency in recruiting, interviewing, selecting, and hiring staff to meet the needs of the specific patient population

  • Adheres to hospital policies associated with HR including but not limited to PEP, FMLA, ADA guidelines, EAP, evaluations, etc. When necessary, disciplines and discharges personnel.

  • Oversee development of department in-service training programs to insure all personnel maintain knowledge of current techniques, procedures, instrument operation, etc. and controls outside travel, including focused distribution of funds.

  • Oversees development and implementation of various quality programs within radiology to include participation in and support of all quality improvement efforts within the department and the medical center.

  • In collaboration with Program Director, maintains oversight of the Radiologic Technology program; coordinates instructors and ensures completion of required documentation related to the program and the clinical rotations.

  • Maintain cooperative working relationships with various hospital & organization personnel and physicians to resolve problems, enhance smooth delivery of services and plan for the future of the hospital and corporation.

  • Through supervisory personnel, ensure all department records and files are properly maintained.

  • Prepares or directs preparation of periodic and special analysis and reports required for management.

  • Reviews problems and incidents affecting efficient and safe operation of department with supervisory personnel and assist same with scheduling, equipment utilization, supply wastage, etc.

  • Maintains knowledge of current trends and development in the field through continuing education.

  • Represents the hospital in a positive manner in the community.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications/Training:

  • Five years of job-related experience

  • Excellent communication skills, verbal and written, team building ability, organizational skills

  • Ability to work independently

  • Five years' experience in a leadership or management position

Education/Certifications/Licenses:

  • Minimum of an Associate degree in Radiologic Technology from an accredited school

  • Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists

  • Certified by the South Carolina Radiation Quality Standards Association
