General Accountability
Reporting to the General Manager with functional alignment to the Vice President, Engineering & Quality, this role provides strategic and operational leadership for the Business Unit Quality function. The Director, Quality and Person Responsible for Maintenance (PRM) ensures compliance with regulatory, customer, and corporate requirements while driving continuous improvement in safety, quality systems, and operational performance.
This leader is a key member of the Strategic Leadership Team for the AMO and is responsible for advancing product integrity, regulatory compliance, and quality and safety system effectiveness across all operational processes.
What You’ll Do
- Lead the Quality function for the AMO (573) and manufacturing (561) organizations in BC, including QA, audit, technical records, training, and quality management systems functions
- Serve as the TCCA-authorized Person Responsible for Maintenance (PRM) for the AMO covering StandardAero’s BC sites
- Facilitate continuous improvement (CI) initiatives as a process leader and facilitator, and promote CI culture throughout the organization
- Develop, implement, and maintain the Quality Management System in compliance with internal and external standards (including ISO9001 and AS9110), and customer requirements (civil and military)
- Ensure compliance with applicable aviation regulatory frameworks, including those of TCCA, FAA, EASA, and other applicable NAAs
- Lead internal and external audits, ensuring timely closure of findings and corrective actions
- Serve as the primary quality interface with customers, regulators, and internal leadership teams
- Drive safety culture, tracking, and reporting, including identification and escalation of flight/product safety concerns to the Flight Safety Review Board
- Lead root cause and corrective action investigations, including containment and customer communications
- Oversee performance management, talent development, and organizational capability within the quality function
- Partner cross-functionally to improve processes, reduce risk, and enhance product integrity
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, Aerospace, or related), Commerce, or a related technical or business discipline; OR a valid Transport Canada AME license (M1, M2, E, or S); OR an equivalent combination of education and relevant quality, manufacturing, or aerospace experience
- 10+ years of progressive experience in the aviation industry (e.g., MRO, manufacturing, or flight operations)
- 5+ years of progressive leadership experience in quality, engineering, safety, or process improvement roles, including leading cross-functional teams in a technical environment
- Experience developing, implementing, or managing a Quality Management System (QMS) in a regulated environment
- 2+ years of experience working with aviation regulatory requirements (e.g., TCCA, FAA, EASA, or equivalent regulatory authorities)
- 2+ years of experience leading or managing audits and corrective action processes, including investigation and resolution of findings
- Experience using data and quality metrics to analyze performance and support operational or business decision-making
- Experience communicating with and presenting to cross-functional stakeholders at multiple levels of an organization
- Must be legally authorized to work in Canada
Desired Skills & Experience
- Experience in aviation MRO environments, particularly those operating under TCCA Canadian Aviation Regulations (CARs)
- Experience in AS9110, ISO 9001, or equivalent quality systems
- Experience as or eligibility to challenge exam for TCCA Person Responsible for Maintenance (PRM)
- Experience leading continuous improvement (CI) or lean initiatives
- Experience in complex, multi-site, or global operations and ability to influence across a matrixed, global organization
- Experience with Health & Safety and Environmental functions, including regulatory compliance, risk assessments, incident investigations, and implementation of safety and environmental management systems

Skills Required
