The Director of Quality, will be responsible for overseeing quality processes across a cutting-edge research and development organization. This role will ensure that procedures and products meet customer expectations and regulatory requirements through the design and implementation of robust and tailored quality systems and through the effective management of quality teams across the company.
The Quality Director must ensure that functional managers and employees across the company are in compliance with the rules and regulations of regulatory agencies and applicable industry standards; and that the company Quality Management System (QMS) policies, procedures, and work Instructions are being followed.
Essential Duties:
•Creating quality strategies and proposing implementation methods
•Developing, implementing, and updating quality systems and procedures
•Ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements
•Conducting internal audits and evaluations
•Analyzing and reporting on quality performance and issues
•Lead, mentor, and manage a team of Quality professionals
•Drive the adoption of new/appropriate Quality methodologies and tools
•Drive the adoption of new/appropriate Quality methodologies and tools
•Identify and mitigate quality risks by proactively addressing potential issues before they impact customers.
•Lead root cause analysis and corrective action processes
•Present quality reports and insights to executive leadership, highlighting areas for improvement and strategic recommendations
Job functions to include, but are not limited to:
•Strategic planning to support, quality related, research and development and HRL needs.
•Promote a culture of quality throughout the organization and ensure quality is a top priority.
•Ensure compliance with AS9100, ISO standards and other applicable regulatory requirements.
•Review and support required updates to QMS Processes for compliance with internal QMS Requirements, external customer requirements, AS/ISO standards, and regulatory requirements.
•Review and support the development processes and provide guidance for compliance with internal and customer-imposed requirements.
•Review and address Customer Corrective Action Requests. Lead Root-Cause Analysis and other problem-solving activities regarding reported non-conformances and/or quality escapes to identify and implement effective, containment actions, corrective actions, and improvements.
•Establish and utilize metrics to support customer needs, make business decisions and drive continuous improvement.
•Reporting and analysis of quality performance
•Provide quality & regulatory compliance related proposals inputs, and quality compliance matrix when required.
•Perform contract review for quality provisions as part of the contract formation process.
•Manage staff: expectations, support, training and development.
•Manage organization budget.
Minimum Requirements:
•Strong knowledge of quality systems, including ISO 9001 and experience with implementing and maintaining these systems
•Strong understanding of the current quality best practices and trends
•Experience with statistical process control, Six Sigma, and other quality tools and methodologies
•Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to lead and motivate teams to achieve quality goals.
•Ability to work collaboratively across technical and administration functions
•Ability to set expectations, support, and hold people accountable.
•Experience managing supplier quality and working with suppliers to improve quality performance.
•Detail oriented and committed to producing high-quality products.
•Experience working in a research and development environment and the ability to manage multiple priorities.

Physical/ Mental Demands:
Must possess excellent customer service skills. Must be able to communicate effectively and professionally with internal customers, Executive and C-suite leadership.
Education Desired:
Bachelor’s Degree and 15+ years of experience, or an equivalent combination of degree and years of experience in Quality Control, Quality Compliance, and AS9100D/ISO9001:2015 Audit experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
•AS9100D/ISO9001:2015 Certified Auditor.
•ASQ Certificate in Quality Leadership, Quality Audit, Quality Engineering or Six Sigma
•Recent IPC-610, IPC-620, IPC-600, and J-STD-001 Standards
Special Requirements:
Able to work flexible hours. U.S. citizenship required with the strong likelihood of requiring a security clearance in the future.
Compensation:
The base salary range for this full-time position is $182,720 - $234,168 + bonus + benefits.
