As a Quality Director (Helicopter Business Unit), you will provide strategic leadership for the business unit quality function, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, corporate standards, and customer expectations. You will lead quality strategy, drive continuous improvement across repair and overhaul operations, and ensure product safety, reliability, and performance. In this role, you will partner with senior leadership, engineering, and operations to embed quality across the full product lifecycle.

Our Winnipeg facility provides full MRO services for 6 different engine lines (Arriel 1 and 2, M250, RR300, PT6T and PW200) across 3 OEMs (SAFRAN, Rolls Royce, Pratt & Whitney Canada).
What you’ll do:
- Provide strategic direction for the business unit quality function, including policies, procedures, and quality system governance
- Lead, develop, and manage quality teams, including engineers, inspectors, analysts, and coordinators
- Oversee quality performance metrics and drive continuous improvement initiatives across the business unit
- Lead audit programs, CAPA processes, and risk assessments for product and flight safety-critical components
- Ensure compliance with ISO 9001, AS9110 standards, Transport Canada airworthiness regulations, and other applicable requirements
- Partner with engineering and operations to define and integrate quality requirements into product and process design
- Develop and maintain quality measurement systems to monitor performance against business and regulatory standards
- Promote Just Culture principles and ensure timely escalation and management of safety-related issues
- Lead talent management activities including hiring, development, succession planning, and performance management
- Participate in executive leadership planning, budgeting, and strategic initiatives; support special projects as assigned
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Aerospace Engineering (or equivalent) from an accredited institution
- Minimum of 10 years of professional experience in quality, manufacturing, or aerospace (MRO or production environment preferred)
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive leadership experience managing teams of at least 3+ direct or indirect reports in a quality or technical function
- Minimum of 5 years of experience applying ISO 9001 or AS9110 quality management systems in a regulated manufacturing or aerospace environment
- Minimum of 5 years of experience applying aviation regulatory requirements (e.g., Transport Canada airworthiness standards or equivalent regulatory body) in a production or MRO environment
- Minimum of 3 years of experience using ERP, MRP, or quality management systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or equivalent) for production, quality tracking, or reporting purposes
- Minimum of 3 years of professional experience using Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) for reporting, analysis, and executive-level presentations
- Demonstrated experience interpreting and applying technical, regulatory, and quality documentation in a manufacturing or aerospace environment
