As the Public Policy Director for Latin America, you will be playing a key role in defining our local strategy, including how our participation in trade groups, work with NGOs, regulatory commitments and compliance, and proactive work to scale our business will help position Roblox for the future. You will be responsible for understanding our Community Rules, policies and contributing to develop specific principles and policies. The ideal candidate will be able to work from HQ in San Mateo or our office in Washington DC, as well as collaborate with all internal team members. You’re comfortable identifying policy issues, solving those issues, and bringing improved products to our players and creators. You should be passionate about our mission, the community we serve, and the policy issues we need to address. Above all else, you appreciate that relationships often drive outcomes and work excellently and collaboratively with others.
You Will
- Define a comprehensive Public Policy for Latin America and implement related programs, with particular focus on Brazil to start
- Identify, monitor, and analyze policy issues affecting Roblox in LatAm
- Advise Roblox teams on public policy matters as inputs to the development of our products and business operations
- Articulate our public policy positions in briefing papers and consultation responses
- Communicate on behalf of Roblox on public policy topics
- Communicate the public policies to all internal team members at the company. Provide governance for and updates on product policies
- Ensure that Roblox stays in compliance with our product policies
- Oversee and inspire change vital to achieve policy compliance objectives and foster a culture of compliance across the organization.
- Work with external partners, to understand and account for the views of external partners about our product policies
You Have
- Bachelor's degree in Policy, Law, Media, Science, Engineering, Technology, or related field of study or equivalent experience
- Fluency in Portuguese, with Spanish a major plus
- 7+ years of experience as a Public Policy Leader at an internet, e-commerce, social, or gaming company
- Experience working with policymakers, child safety groups and international organizations
- Ability to work seamlessly with cross-functional teams consisting of business operations, financial and legal partners
- Experience with project/program management and able to keep multiple concurrent results moving forward on schedule

- A dynamic and engaging presenter with stellar written and oral delivery across multiple platforms, live and virtual
- Meticulous, with strong communication, planning and organizational skills
- Collaborative, with strong relationship building skills to get things done in partnership with other groups
- Self-directed, with the ability to define your own work and processes
For roles that are based at our headquarters in San Mateo, CA: The starting base pay for this position is as shown below. The actual base pay is dependent upon a variety of job-related factors such as professional background, training, work experience, location, business needs and market demand. Therefore, in some circumstances, the actual salary could fall outside of this expected range. This pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. All full-time employees are also eligible for equity compensation and for benefits.
Annual Salary Range
$276,420—$329,220 USD
Roles that are based in our San Mateo, CA Headquarters are in-office Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, with optional in-office on Monday and Friday (unless otherwise noted).
