Procon seeks a Proposal Director to join our expanding leadership team. The Director of Proposals is a hands-on leader providing strategic direction, coaching, and support to proposal teams resulting in engaged, happy team members producing innovative and winning proposals.  


Requirements

Responsibilities and Duties  

  • Team Leadership: Lead, coach, encourage, and direct a team of seven proposal managers and coordinators producing a high volume of proposals in response to primarily government solicitations. This includes helping team members expand their proposal development skills and expertise while they produce their work product.  
  • Strategic Leadership: Provide expertise and leadership related to proposal strategies to pursuit teams as well as serving as trusted strategy advisor to Senior Vice President of Strategy and Senior Vice President of Operations. This includes becoming an expert on Procon’s experience and abilities as well as our position in the market and our strategic relationships.   
  •  Quality Leadership: Ensure Proposal Team work products are compliant with applicable solicitation instructions and provide compelling technical solutions, innovative management approaches, and relevant past performance. This includes work sessions and proposal reviews with team members at various stages of proposal development as well as pursuit team lessons learned on select opportunities.  
  • Process Leadership: Work with Proposal Team and pursuit stakeholders to improve, develop, and maintain business processes and methodologies that optimize efficiency, quality, and effectiveness of the proposal process. This includes managing special projects and leveraging technology such as Salesforce, AI, and other applications to improve team output. 

Qualifications and Skills  

  • Management skills: Excellent experience leading teams with empathy, compassion, integrity, and humility.   
  • Industry Knowledge: Experience in the A/E/C (Architecture/Engineering/Construction) and professional services industry.  
  • Proposal Expertise: Complete understanding of the proposal process for federal government procurements, from planning stages to production  
  • Experience: Minimum of 15 years of experience responding to RFIs, RFQs, and RFPs, with an emphasis on federal government opportunities or combination of relevant similar experience  
  • Educational Background: Bachelor’s Degree or higher preferred  
  • Soft skills: Excellent coaching and interpersonal skills
