About the Role
Sierra Space is seeking a highly qualified, mission oriented Director of Programs, Space Vehicle IPT Lead for our Englewood, CO, location.
The project represents a unique strategic opportunity for Sierra Space to deliver an exciting OPIR space capability for our nation. The candidate will be growing and leading a diverse team of engineers, suppliers and partners through the development and integration of our Horizon Spacecraft and the associated mission payloads critical to our National Security.
The Space Vehicle IPT Lead will be responsible for all aspects of design, development, production, integration, test, and verification of the integrated space vehicle over the lifecycle of the program.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Space Vehicle strategy and execution (cost, schedule, technical, quality)
  • Successful execution of design to cost across multiple concurrent developments in alignment with program plan to deliver best value
  • Collaboration with program and functional leaders to develop and nurture a highly competent and engaged team that delivers on commitments and embodies "best culture"
  • Support to broad strategic initiatives


The position reports directly to the Vice President - Program Manager and will have significant customer interaction. Effective communication and excellent leadership characteristics are essential.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Active Secret Security Clearance required
  • Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM)
  • 10 years of experience in Engineering with specific experience in IPT/program management
  • Demonstrated ability to create trusted relationships with customers
  • Demonstrated ability to lead complex programs comprised of engineering, business, contracts, law, supply chain, production and mission/quality assurance disciplines
  • Team leadership experience


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience spacecraft engineering, mission payloads engineering and/or flight software
  • Top Secret clearance and SCI preferred
  • Significant experience with program cost and schedule management and supplier technical management preferred
  • Leadership experience with new start activities and effective change management


IMPORTANT NOTICE:
This position requires current/active Secret U.S. Security Clearance. U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position needs an active U.S. Security Clearance for employment. Non-U.S. Citizens may not be eligible to obtain a security clearance. The Department of Defense Consolidated Adjudications Facility (DoD CAF), a federal government agency, handles the adjudicative aspects of the security clearance eligibility process for industry applicants. Adjudicative factors which affect the outcome of the eligibility determination include, but are not limited to, allegiance to the U.S., foreign influence, foreign preference, criminal conduct, security violations and illegal drug use.

Estimated Starting Salary Range:
$186,100.35 - $255,887.98
