Director, Product Strategy

The Problems You'll Solve

• Identify new product/market opportunities by deeply understanding customer pain points, needs and motivations as well as the competitive landscape i.e. through a mix of primary and secondary research
• Define product and service concepts including features, workflows to get customer feedback and iterate to define an MVP
• Work with product and business leaders to develop a business case for the product
• Work with product leaders to define early product roadmap for testing product market fit
• Work with designers to define product mockups, concepts to test with customers to get product feedback
• Facilitate and influence decision making on scaling the product

The Team You'll Work With

You’ll be joining our Strategy & Business Operations. The Strategy & Business Operations team partners with Carta’s c-suite to drive Carta’s strategy, identify opportunities for organic and inorganic  growth and investment, and drive innovation and best-in-class execution across teams to accelerate our path to $1bn+ in annual revenue.

About You

We're seeking someone who has:

• A learning mindset; Carta sits at the intersection of software, private markets, public markets and other capital markets players - we learn new things every day
• 10 - 12 years of experience in product management, product strategy specifically working on B2B software products focused in the financial services industry (e.g, banking, private equity, venture capital)
• Proven track record of identifying and evaluating product opportunities in a fast paced environment and motivated to work collaboratively
• Comfortable with surfacing data driven insights
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to distill complex thoughts and strategies into simple, actionable recommendations, especially to executives

Salary

Carta’s compensation package includes a market competitive salary, equity for all full time roles, exceptional benefits, and, for applicable roles, commissions plans. Our minimum cash compensation (salary + commission if applicable) range for this role is: $232,000 - $290,000  in San Francisco and New York. Final offers may vary from the amount listed based on geography, candidate experience and expertise, and other factors.
