Who We Are

Maybern is transforming the way private fund managers effectively manage their funds through cutting edge technology. Maybern is founded by top engineering experts with deep knowledge of the fund management space.

Private funds manage $15T in capital and are growing at 20% YoY, but with increasing regulatory scrutiny and investor demands for transparency, the need for world class software to help private fund CFOs is crucial.

This is where Maybern comes in.

We are equipping fund managers with intuitive, flexible fund management software, enabling private investment managers to focus on what they do best: driving returns for their investors. We are backed by leading venture capital firms and a large number of strategic investors.

Maybern is an NYC based company with a strong in-office culture to drive collaboration, and we are looking to make strong additions to our team.

What We're Looking For

We are looking for an entrepreneurial and creative product manager to own and lead the development of Maybern’s new Scenario Modeling product: a 0→1 initiative that will redefine how CFOs forecast, analyze, and plan. This is an opportunity to build a product from the ground up that will transform how private market leaders make financial decisions.

In order to be successful in this role, you'll need to have a deep appreciation for understanding our market, users and competitors in an effort to take a market and customer-driven approach to development. The ideal candidate brings proven experience leading 0→1 product development, setting strategic direction for a cross-functional team of engineers and designers, and driving end-to-end delivery, from ideation to launch and iteration. You collaborate well across teams, distill and incorporate feedback, and communicate clearly and concisely.

What You'll Do

To thrive in this role, you must have an entrepreneurial spirit and be excited about developing a product vision that turns abstract financial modeling challenges into tangible, scalable software. As the product management leader for Scenario Modeling, you will meaningfully shape Maybern by:

  • Building our foundations: You’ll define the vision, strategy, and roadmap for Maybern’s Scenario Modeling product. You’ll develop product concepts, test plans, and functional specifications that bring a new category-defining product to market. You’ll lead the team with an organized, agile approach that balances rapid iteration with technical excellence, and define the KPIs that drive product decisions and measure success.

  • Listening to our users: You’ll conduct user research and data analysis to understand our clients’ needs. You’ll analyze client data and feedback to inform business objectives, user behaviors, and product vision. You’ll balance the ultimate user experience with business goals, and break down complex problems in order to locate and manage their solutions.

  • Collaborating cross-functionally: You’ll synthesize learnings to share cross-functionally. You’ll work closely with engineering, design, and business development teams to define, execute and refine our product vision.

Who You Are

  • Product Vision. You have a full understanding of how to identify the true needs of the user through research, plan through a user-centric lens, and create elegant and functional experiences. You have a relentless product-mindset that drives you not only to contribute to engineering execution, but to plan, design, implement, and test features to perfect the user experience.

  • Leader. You're eager to shape our product foundation and will level up team practices and processes. You can take broad guidance and determine the best path forward. You thrive in a fast-paced environment and are comfortable wearing multiple hats.

  • Communicative. You collaborate well across teams and are skilled at distilling and incorporating feedback, and communicating clearly and concisely. You can simplify complex concepts, articulate, and explain your thoughts effectively, and ask questions to gain deeper insights.

  • Inquisitive and Creative. You are a deep listener who seeks different points of views, asks the right clarifying questions to understand the problem at hand, and thinks creatively to find the best solutions.

  • Strategic. You see both the forest and the trees: think big picture, execute fine details. You can plan for the long term while navigating short-term tradeoffs.

This Could Be a Great Fit If You...

  • Have 6+ years of relevant experience and a proven ability of setting strategic direction for a cross-functional team of application developers and product designers, and leading end-to-end, through ideation, launch, and iteration.

  • Have an entrepreneurial spirit and are excited to develop a product vision and to create quality experiences that accommodate user needs and business outcomes.

  • Are passionate about working on large and complex systems with undefined/unscoped problems and delivering results in an organized manner.

  • Have the ability and mindfulness to clearly communicate and effectively collaborate with team members across all levels of the organization.

  • Are obsessed with details and excited to "get into the weeds".

  • Experience working with financial or analytical software, especially products that involve forecasting, modeling, or complex data interactions, is a plus!

Benefits

What We Do

Technology has revolutionized the operations of public markets. The improvement in capabilities has raised investor expectations and regulatory demands, but the private markets can’t keep up. By equipping fund managers with intuitive, flexible fund management software, Maybern is modernizing fund operations, making it more efficient, more accurate, and more seamless. In doing so, Maybern is enabling investment managers to spend more time doing what they do best: creating value for their investors.
