Positionsübersicht

Als Director Product Portfolio Management übernehmen Sie eine Schlüsselrolle in einem neu geschaffenen strategischen Bereich unserer Product & Technology Organisation. Als Schnittstelle zwischen Forschung & Entwicklung, Produktmanagement, Unternehmensstrategie und Vertrieb schaffen Sie Transparenz über unser Portfolio und unterstützen richtungsweisende Investitions- und Priorisierungsentscheidungen.

In dieser Rolle arbeiten Sie eng mit internationalen Führungsteams zusammen, entwickeln die Grundlage für eine langfristige R&D-Strategie und gestalten die zukünftige Ausrichtung unseres Banking- & Retail-Portfolios aktiv mit. Gleichzeitig bietet Ihnen die Position die Möglichkeit, einen neuen Bereich mitzugestalten und dessen Weiterentwicklung maßgeblich zu prägen.

Ihre Aufgaben

  • Priorisieren von Investitionen auf Portfolioebene im Banking- und Retail-Umfeld, um nachhaltiges Wachstum und langfristigen Unternehmenserfolg zu unterstützen
  • Zusammenführen und Aufbereiten von Informationen aus verschiedenen Entwicklungsbereichen, um Transparenz über Programme, Investitionen, Roadmaps, Risiken und Chancen zu schaffen
  • Abstimmen von Produktinvestitionen mit den Zielen des Produktmanagements, der Unternehmensstrategie und des Vertriebs
  • Erkennen und Bewerten portfolioübergreifender Wachstumschancen, Markttrends und technologischer Entwicklungen zur Weiterentwicklung des Portfolios
  • Sicherstellen einer ausgewogenen Verteilung von Investitionen über bestehende, angrenzende und zukunftsorientierte Innovationsfelder hinweg
  • Moderieren anspruchsvoller Priorisierungs- und Investitionsentscheidungen sowie Herbeiführen tragfähiger Lösungen bei konkurrierenden Anforderungen
  • Steuern und Weiterentwickeln von Portfolio-Governance-Prozessen einschließlich regelmäßiger Portfolio-Reviews und Investitionsentscheidungen
  • Identifizieren und Weiterentwickeln strategisch relevanter Technologie- und Ökosystempartnerschaften
  • Enge Zusammenarbeit mit Führungskräften aus Produktmanagement, Entwicklung, Finance und Vertrieb, um eine gemeinsame strategische Ausrichtung sicherzustellen

Qualifikationen

Essenziell

  • Erfolgreich abgeschlossenes Studium im Bereich Ingenieurwesen, Informatik, Mathematik, Wirtschaftswissenschaften oder einer vergleichbaren Fachrichtung
  • Mehrjährige Erfahrung in den Bereichen Portfolio Management, Unternehmensstrategie, Strategieberatung, Produktmanagement oder einem vergleichbaren strategischen Umfeld
  • Ausgeprägte analytische Fähigkeiten sowie die Fähigkeit, komplexe Zusammenhänge verständlich und entscheidungsrelevant aufzubereiten
  • Erfahrung in der Leitung bereichsübergreifender Projekte oder strategischer Initiativen
  • Gute Kenntnisse von Technologie- und Entwicklungsprozessen im Software-, Hardware- oder Digitalumfeld
  • Erfahrung in Business Planning, Investitionsanalysen oder der Entwicklung von Business Cases
  • Fähigkeit, unterschiedliche Interessen auf Managementebene zusammenzuführen und anspruchsvolle Stakeholder-Diskussionen erfolgreich zu moderieren
  • Verhandlungssichere Englischkenntnisse

Position overview

As Director Product Portfolio Management, you will play a key role in a newly established strategic function within our Banking & Retail Product & Technology organization. Acting as the link between our R&D organizations, Product Management, Corporate Strategy and Commercial teams, you will help shape future investment decisions and long-term growth priorities across our portfolio.

This highly visible role offers the opportunity to create transparency across complex development initiatives, influence senior leadership decision-making, and help define the future R&D strategy for our Banking & Retail business. As the function continues to evolve, you will have the opportunity to shape its direction and contribute to building its future capabilities.

Location: This role can be based in any EMEA country

Your Responsibilities 

  • Driving portfolio-level investment prioritization across Banking & Retail products to maximize business value and support strategic growth
  • Creating transparency across R&D programs, investments, roadmaps, risks, and opportunities by consolidating data from multiple development organizations
  • Aligning product investments with Product Management, Corporate Strategy, and Commercial priorities
  • Identifying cross-portfolio growth opportunities, market trends, and emerging technologies to shape future portfolio strategy
  • Evaluating and balancing investments across core, adjacent, and transformational initiatives to maintain a healthy innovation portfolio
  • Facilitating portfolio-level decision making, resolving competing priorities, and arbitrating conflicts across product and engineering organizations
  • Leading portfolio governance activities, including portfolio reviews, investment boards, and executive reporting
  • Identifying and developing technology and ecosystem partnerships that support innovation and future growth opportunities
  • Collaborating with senior stakeholders across Product Management, Engineering, Finance, and Commercial organizations to drive strategic alignment

Qualifications

Essential

  • Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field

  • Significant experience in Portfolio Management, Corporate Strategy, Strategy Consulting, Product Management, or a comparable strategic role

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate complex information into clear, actionable insights for decision-making

  • Experience leading cross-functional projects or strategic initiatives

  • Solid understanding of technology and product development environments, ideally within software, hardware, or digital solutions

  • Experience in business planning, investment analysis, or the development of business cases

  • Ability to align diverse stakeholder interests and facilitate effective discussions at the management level

  • Fluent English communication skills

  • Experience within the Banking, Retail, Payments, or FinTech industry

  • Background in strategy consulting or a comparable consulting environment
