Billing & CIS | Nordic Energy & Utilities
Location: Oslo, Norway (preferred)
Hansen Technologies is a listed global software and services provider powering the Energy & Utilities and Communications sectors. With more than 330 utilities using our solutions across Europe, the US, Asia and ANZ, we sit at the heart of how energy is billed, traded, optimised and delivered.
As the Nordic energy market accelerates towards smarter grids, distributed generation and AI‑enabled operations, we’re investing in the next chapter of our Billing & CIS platform — and we’re looking for a senior product leader to shape that future.
This is a career‑defining role for a product executive who wants to combine deep domain credibility, platform modernisation, and real customer impact at scale.
The opportunity
As Director of Product Management, you will own the product strategy, vision and roadmap for Hansen’s Billing & CIS product suite in the Nordic region, spanning meter‑to‑cash and adjacent market workflows.
You will lead the end‑to‑end R&D investment lifecycle — from ideation and business case through to delivery and release — while driving a step‑change in product outcomes:
- Faster innovation to market
- Modern, services‑oriented architecture
- Embedded AI and agentic capabilities
- Measurable improvements in customer satisfaction and retention
This is a hands‑on leadership role operating at the intersection of product, engineering, customers and commercial strategy.
Your impact
- Set product direction and outcomes: define what success looks like and deliver against it — speed, adoption, satisfaction and reduced churn.
- Own the roadmap and release strategy across Billing, CIS and adjacent modules, making clear value‑based trade‑offs.
- Lead platform modernisation using a strangler‑pattern approach: service boundaries, APIs, migration paths and legacy deprecation.
- Embed AI and agentic capability into the product — from prioritised use cases through to adoption and value measurement.
- Raise the bar on product craft by supporting spec‑driven, AI‑assisted development with clear problem statements, NFRs and acceptance criteria.
- Build and lead a high‑performance product organisation, coaching Product Managers and CX/UI talent in a distributed environment.
- Be market‑facing: engage regularly with Hansen’s top Nordic customers, partner with Sales on strategic deals, and represent Hansen at industry events.
- Close the loop with Delivery and Professional Services, reducing implementation friction and feeding real‑world learning back into the core product.
You will report to the VP of Software Delivery (Billing & CIS) Nordics and lead a team of Product Managers.
What do you bring
You are a credible product leader in Nordic Energy & Utilities, equally comfortable with executive customers and senior engineers.
You bring:
- Deep domain expertise in Billing/CIS and adjacent utility processes, with credibility at C‑suite and A‑level utility leadership.
- A track record of leading product transformation — modernising platforms while maintaining customer confidence and delivery momentum.
- Strong commercial judgement: investment cases, prioritisation and outcome‑based decision making.
- Confidence partnering with engineering and architecture on services‑oriented platforms, cloud/SaaS implications and release discipline.
- Excellent stakeholder leadership — clear decisions, strong narrative, pragmatic alignment.
- Proven people leadership, building accountable, high‑performing product teams.
- Outstanding communication skills, written and verbal.
- Fluent English and Norwegian.
Experience productising AI features, working with strangler‑pattern modernisation, or coming from a technical background is a strong advantage.
