Job Description

Fortune Brands Director of Product Management reports to the Vice President of Product Management for US Smart Residential. The Director will work closely with US Smart Residential hardware engineering teams, Global Product Management and Software teams, as well as operations, sales, supply chain and finance.

As Director, you will help define and bring to life the next generation of smart access products. We strive to make solutions that integrate effortlessly into our customers’ lives while providing more security and awareness.

Primary activities include leading the development of strategic product and marketing plans aimed with global cross-functional teams for the next generation of smart access devices.

Responsibilities:

  • Uncover and define user benefits for new products through market research supported by on-going visits to customers, sales team and end-users
  • Lead new product development teams comprised of global, cross-functional members, including engineering, marketing, sales, finance, etc.
  • Lead development of go to market plans including pricing, forecasting, messaging, and channel placement.
  • Create and maintain a multi-year product roadmap and strategic direction for multiple product categories.
  • Conduct and drive market opportunity-finding exercises
  • Develop and lead product management direct reports
  • Develop and implement product management organizational improvement activities
  • Understand and report on market trends, competitive threats, and product opportunities.
  • Work with strategic customers to align their requirements with product roadmaps and uncover new opportunities
  • Special projects as required

 

Qualifications

  • BA/BS degree in Engineering or Marketing.  MBA preferred
  • 10+ years of direct Product Management Experience, ideally working with consumer electronics or other B2C technology products.
  • Excel in team leadership and communication skills for both direct and indirect employees
  • Excellent analytical and organizational skills
  • Experience with customer research
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.  Must possess strong attention to detail
  • Proven ability to thrive in a high energy, multitasking, and results driven work environment
  • Available to travel up to 40%, including international travel

Additional Information

Fortune Brands believes in fair and equitable pay. A reasonable estimate of the base salary range for this role is Hiring Pay Range: $120,000 USD - $192,500 USD. Please note that actual salaries may vary within the range, or be above or below the range, based on factors including, but not limited to, education, training, experience, professional achievement, business need, and location. In addition to base salary, employees will participate in either an annual bonus plan based on company and individual performance, or a role-based sales incentive plan.
