About the role:

As the Director of Product Management, you will lead Absorb's core product management organization. You will translate company strategy and prioritized bets into shipped outcomes, own the health and craft of a talented pod-based PM team, and set the operating rhythm that keeps delivery focused and predictable. Two priorities define this role beyond delivery: driving the adoption of AI across our product management workflows, and deepening the strategic capability of every PM. You will lead a growing team of skilled product managers, building on a high-performing, customer-focused environment that aligns with business goals and customer needs.

What you'll do

Strategic Leadership:

  • Translate company strategy and prioritized bets into pod-level roadmaps and outcomes. Set a clear point of view on where the product team should focus to create the most customer and business value and align execution to it.

Team Development & Leadership:

  • Build, lead, mentor, and scale the product management team across flexible and specialized pods. Deepen the strategic capability of every PM, expanding their impact from strong feature delivery into broader strategic ownership, and create clear development pathways for the team. Champion a culture of accountability, customer focus, and continuous improvement.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

  • Partner with Product Design, Development, Customer Success, and the Principal Product Managers to shape product direction and ensure cohesive, end-to-end delivery. Coordinate across pods to unblock work and manage cross-cutting dependencies and risk.

Product Operations & Governance:

  • Establish and evolve PM processes, tools, and quality standards, with specific focus on creating and leveraging high quality data to drive decision making and measure outcomes.

Customer Advocacy:

  • Champion the voice of the customer through qualitative and quantitative signals. Create the space and structure for PMs to develop customer expertise and translate insight into actionable strategies that inform product innovation and prioritization.

Resource & Portfolio Management:

  • Oversee PM capacity and resource allocation across multiple pods and initiatives. Balance short-term delivery needs with long-term strategic investment in the platform and the team.

Innovation, AI & Trends:

  • Define and drive a practical vision for how AI transforms the way our PMs work — from discovery and research synthesis to writing, analysis, and roadmapping. Identify, pilot, and scale AI tools and workflows across the team, set measurable adoption goals, model the behavior yourself, and establish the guardrails and enablement that make adoption stick. Stay ahead of industry trends and best practices to elevate the team’s impact and efficiency.

What you'll bring:

  • 10+ years of product management experience in a B2B SaaS environment, including 5+ years leading and developing high-performing teams of Product Managers at the Director level or above.

  • Proven track record of translating company strategy into product roadmaps, portfolio investments, and measurable business outcomes across multiple cross-functional teams or product areas.

  • Strong people leadership experience with a demonstrated ability to coach Product Managers from execution-focused delivery to strategic product ownership, while building scalable career development frameworks and performance standards.

  • Deep expertise in product operating models, including roadmap planning, prioritization, product discovery, stakeholder alignment, and execution governance within Agile and pod-based organizations.

  • Demonstrated experience driving AI adoption within product organizations, including the implementation of AI-powered workflows, tools, and best practices that improve product discovery, decision-making, delivery efficiency, and team effectiveness.

Nice-to-Have:

  • Experience leading product teams within the HR technology, learning technology, or enterprise software space.

  • Experience scaling product organizations through periods of rapid growth, organizational transformation, or platform modernization.

  • MBA or equivalent combination of business, technology, and leadership experience.
