The Team

As a Product Leader, you will lead the product strategy and execution for real-time decisions about whether to approve or decline customer applications and transactions based on customer eligibility, risk profile, and fraud exposure. This role is responsible for shaping the future of how these automated decisions balance customer experience against potential fraud losses. You will lead a team of talented product managers and work cross-functionally with engineering, design, marketing, and operations to deliver best-in-class digital experiences.
We are looking for a Product Manager to join our Decisioning Product team in Capital One Small Business Bank. You will define, build, and accelerate risk management solutions for pre- and post-booking experiences that enable us to serve small business customers quickly and in a well-managed way. Your role will be equal parts coach, visionary, and problem solver, and you will be responsible for leading a high-impact, associate product team, co-creating a vision for the future, gaining broad stakeholder alignment, and guiding cross-functional teams to deliver exceptional value while knocking down all the things that slow us down.

  • Demonstrated ability to employ judgment and experience to make rapid and complex decisions.
  • Highly developed interpersonal, presentation, and communications skills (written and verbal).

Basic Qualifications:
  • At least 7 years of experience working in Product Management
  • Currently has, or is in the process of obtaining one of the following with an expectation that the required degree will be obtained on or before the scheduled start date:
    • A Bachelor's Degree in a quantitative field (Statistics, Economics, Operations Research, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Information Systems or a related quantitative field)
    • A Master's Degree in a quantitative field (Statistics, Economics, Operations Research, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Information Systems or a related quantitative field) or an MBA with a quantitative concentration

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience translating business strategy and analysis into consumer facing digital products

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.
McLean, VA: $230,400 - $263,000 for Director, Product Management
New York, NY: $251,400 - $286,900 for Director, Product Management
Richmond, VA: $209,500 - $239,100 for Director, Product Management
Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate's offer letter.
This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan.
