The Product Management function drives company’s revenue growth, profit margin, and market share through market-driven strategies, new and enhanced products, and effective execution.

The Director of Product Management – Product Stewardship leads the strategy, development, and execution of global product stewardship programs to ensure products meet regulatory, safety, environmental, and sustainability standards throughout their lifecycle. This role partners cross-functionally with Product Management, R&D, Operations, Regulatory Affairs, and Sustainability teams to drive compliance, reduce risk, and enhance the company’s environmental and social responsibility footprint.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive product stewardship strategy aligned with corporate sustainability goals and global compliance requirements.
  • Lead initiatives to ensure compliance with product-related regulations (e.g., REACH, RoHS, TSCA, Prop 65, WEEE, GHS, PFAS restrictions, etc.).
  • Represent Product Stewardship in strategic planning and new product development processes to ensure proactive compliance and design-for-sustainability.

Product Lifecycle Management

  • Oversee product compliance and stewardship across the entire lifecycle—from material sourcing and manufacturing to end-of-life management.
  • Collaborate with product managers and engineers to integrate environmental and safety considerations into product design and portfolio decisions.
  • Drive product data management systems for regulatory and sustainability reporting.

Cross-functional Collaboration

  • Partner with global regulatory, EHS, legal, and supply chain teams to ensure adherence to applicable standards and to respond to emerging regulatory trends.
  • Support customers and sales teams with accurate product compliance documentation and sustainability disclosures (e.g., SCIP, SDS, EPDs).
  • Engage with industry associations, NGOs, and government agencies to stay ahead of emerging requirements and best practices.

Team Leadership and Development

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of product stewardship professionals.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

Metrics and Reporting

  • Establish KPIs and dashboards to monitor product compliance, risk mitigation, and sustainability performance.
  • Provide executive updates and thought leadership on global product stewardship trends and regulatory impacts.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Chemistry, Environmental Science, or related field (Master’s preferred).
  • 10+ years of experience in product management, regulatory compliance, product stewardship, or sustainability roles, with at least 5 years in a leadership capacity.
  • Deep understanding of global chemical and product regulations (e.g., EU REACH, RoHS, TSCA, CLP, etc.).
  • Proven experience leading cross-functional teams and influencing at senior levels.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and strategic planning skills.
  • Experience with product lifecycle management (PLM) or compliance systems is a plus.

Pay:

$182,000.00 - $274,000.00 + Eligible for Variable Compensation Plan
