Director - Product Management Issuing and Payout

Main Responsibilities

What you’ll own

  • Lead the comprehensive issuing strategy and roadmap, from product concept to delivery.
  • Manage product Profit and Loss (P&L) goals and growth outcomes across priority customer segments.
  • Develop a high-quality issuing technology stack (API‑first and cloud‑native) and a reliable network of partners.
  • Ensure strong compliance practices, including risk, fraud, and regulatory guardrails for all services.
  • Collaborate closely with platform, treasury/foreign exchange (FX), and operations teams to enable integrated delivery.
  • Bangalore Product Leadership :-
  • Represent the Issuing and Payout product domain at the Bangalore site, ensuring clarity around priorities, roadmap, and business context.
  • Build and support a collaborative local Product Manager/Product Owner (PM/PO) group, fostering customer‑centric and modern product practices.
  • Partner with local Engineering leadership to deliver predictable, high‑quality capabilities and platform components.
  • Align local execution with global product strategy, contributing to Outpayce’s global money movement vision.
  • Act as a decision point for product matters on‑site and maintain clear communication with global domain leadership.

Outcomes (first 12 months)

  • Launch or scale at least one new issuing product to general availability.
  • Improve authorization performance and cost‑to‑serve through data‑driven analysis and enhancements.
  • Onboard key partners and deliver features that reduce reconciliation and operational challenges.
  • Establish governance, service‑level agreements (SLAs), and controls that auditors and customers can trust.
  • Build a local Outpayce product management culture that supports effective delivery and collaboration.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define and manage the issuing strategy, including customer needs, pricing, economics, and go‑to‑market approach.
  • Lead product discovery and delivery by translating customer pain points into modular, easy‑to‑adopt capabilities with clear prioritization.
  • Partner with engineering to scale the platform, including reliable application programming interfaces (APIs), sandbox environments, and observability.
  • Collaborate with schemes, processors, and banks to secure Bank Identification Numbers (BINs), licenses, and sustainable commercial frameworks.
  • Ensure regulatory compliance across issuing, including risk, anti‑money‑laundering (AML), and data privacy requirements.

Lead the Bangalore Product Function

  • Serve as the senior product leader on‑site, reinforcing strategic clarity and Outpayce’s product operating model.
  • Mentor and grow local Product Managers (PMs) and Product Owners (POs) with a focus on impact and technical excellence.
  • Promote a culture of innovation in travel fintech use cases by leveraging local expertise.
  • Strengthen customer‑facing capabilities to support adoption, demonstrations, and use‑case development.

What You Bring

  • 10+ years of experience in payments or fintech with expertise in issuing (prepaid, credit, virtual cards, tokenization, Bank Identification Number sponsorship).
  • Experience delivering Business‑to‑Business (B2B) payment products across multiple markets and partnerships.
  • Knowledge of scheme rules, licensing, and regulated operations, with experience collaborating with auditors and regulators.
  • Experience with Profit and Loss (P&L), pricing, unit economics, and enterprise procurement.
  • Experience leading teams, setting clear objectives, and delivering measurable outcomes using data, user research, and APIs.

Nice to Have

  • Experience in travel payments (airline, online travel agency, hospitality), especially in settlement flows.
  • Familiarity with foreign exchange (FX), treasury, and reconciliation to improve end‑to‑end money movement.
