Job Description

The Director, Deposit Products is a senior product leadership role responsible for the strategy, financial performance, and end‑to‑end lifecycle management of deposit products, including checking, savings, and certificates of deposit (CDs).
This role owns the multi‑year product vision and roadmap, driving customer acquisition, engagement, and balance growth while maintaining strong financial discipline, regulatory alignment, and operational excellence. The Director serves as the senior product owner, partnering closely with executive leadership, technology, marketing, finance, risk, compliance, operations, and external vendors to deliver scalable, data‑driven deposit solutions aligned with broader banking, investment, and wealth management strategies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop the long‑term vision, strategy, and roadmap for deposit products, with primary emphasis on bank deposit products.

  • Align product strategy with client needs, growth objectives, and enterprise banking and wealth management goals.

  • Lead the full product lifecycle, from ideation and business case development through launch, optimization, and retirement.

  • Establish and evolve product management standards, governance, and operating cadence across the deposit portfolio.

  • Serve as the senior product owner, leading complex, cross‑functional initiatives across technology, risk, compliance, operations, finance, marketing, and sales.

  • Drive disciplined execution across multiple initiatives, ensuring dependency management, risk mitigation, and on time delivery.

  • Communicate product strategy, tradeoffs, risks, and outcomes to senior and other stakeholders, influencing without direct authority.

  • Weigh in on deposit pricing strategy, including rates, promotions, segmentation, lifecycle pricing, and behavioral economics.

  • Partner with finance and treasury on forecasting, margin performance, balance growth, and profitability.

  • Build and maintain financial views, performance dashboards, and executive‑level reporting to inform decision making.

  • Monitor performance drivers and translate insights into pricing, product, and promotional actions.

  • Lead data‑driven acquisition and engagement strategies in partnership with marketing.

  • Optimizes campaigns, offers, and channels to maximize ROI, customer growth, and lifetime value.

  • Represent deposit products in internal and external forums, bringing deep product and market expertise.

  • Leverage analytics and SQL‑based insights to monitor KPIs, customer behavior, and product performance.

  • Translate customer and performance insights into clear, actionable product and portfolio decisions.

  • Drive a culture of test‑and‑learn optimization across pricing, features, and marketing.

  • Ensure consistent, compliant customer experiences across existing products and product changes.

  • Oversee product‑level regulatory requirements, disclosures, agreements, and policy updates.

  • Partner with risk and compliance to proactively identify and address product risks.

  • Lead, mentor, and develop high‑performing, customer‑centric, data‑driven product teams.

  • Set clear expectations, provide ongoing coaching and feedback, and support career development for product leaders.

This position may be located in Charlotte, NC or Minneapolis, MN.

 

Required Qualifications

  • 10+ years' relevant experience

  • 5+ years of Deposit Product Management Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, economics, or related field

  • Demonstrated success leading to the development, launch, pricing, and scaling of bank deposit products

  • Deep expertise across the end‑to‑end product management lifecycle

  • Strong experience with deposit pricing, financial modeling, forecasting, and performance drivers

  • Proven partnership with marketing on campaign execution, measurement, and optimization

  • Solid working knowledge of analytics, performance reporting, SQL, and data‑driven decision making

  • Excellent executive‑level communication and presentation skills

  • Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders and lead cross‑functional teams

  • Prior experience leading across the organization to implement project

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in business, economics, or related field

  • 8+ years of Deposit Product Management Experience

  • Knowledge of or experience within wealth management or investment‑focused organizations

  • Extensive experience with Checking, Savings, CDs, or similar product deposit management

  • Experience in bank deposit products at a national or large regional bank

  • Experience crafting and managing deposit acquisition and engagement offers

  • Familiarity with core banking platforms (FIS platforms strongly preferred) and fintech vendor ecosystems

In-Office Collaboration

We are a client-centric, relationship-based business. Working together, in-person, is foundational to how we achieve results. By fostering a culture of face-to-face collaboration, idea sharing, productivity and personal connection, we deliver for our stakeholders — clients, advisors, employees and shareholders. Our employees work in the office at least four (4) days per week, with flexibility to work from home one (1) day per week. Some roles may require additional in-office time or different in-office expectations, and specific requirements will be discussed during the hiring process.

Base Pay Salary

The estimated base salary for this role is $131,000 - $180,100 / year. We have a pay-for-performance compensation philosophy. Your initial total compensation may vary based on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and geographical work location. In addition, most of our roles are eligible for variable pay in the form of bonus, commissions, and/or long-term incentives depending on the role. We also have a competitive and comprehensive benefits program that supports all aspects of your health and well-being, including but not limited to vacation time, sick time, 401(k), and health, dental and life insurances.
