Role overview
CarGurus seeks a Director, Product Management to join our Dealer Product team reporting into our VP, Product. You will be responsible for driving the product strategy and managing a team to build and launch high impact products that fuel critical areas of the dealer customer journey including sourcing, financing and retailing. We are looking for a customer-focused product leader that can work collaboratively across the business to deliver products that delight our users.
What you'll do
- Gain a deep understanding of our existing B2B product suite, including consumer-to-dealer & dealer-to-dealer products and our finance & digital retail products
- Partner with sales, marketing, operations, and CarOffer teams to collect, validate, and prioritize ideas for potential products and ways to improve the existing CarGurus product set
- Spend time with our dealers in focus groups and 1-on-1 conversations to solicit feedback, identify pain points, and test and refine product initiatives
- Evaluate competitor offerings, feature sets, pricing models, and key messages to develop the best way for CarGurus to bring new products to market
- Analyze data on product usage and performance to optimize and improve our business
- Collaborate cross-functionally to roll out new products and initiatives, working closely with employees from across the organization to ensure success growth and profitability for the business.
- Coach and mentor your team, helping bring consistency and best practices to our product development process
- Help us hire the next generation of incredible product managers at CarGurus as you scale up your team
What you'll bring
- 10+ years of professional product management experience with at least 3+ years in a product leadership position with direct reports
- Experience within a two sided marketplace is desired: ideal candidates could have work experience at SaaS companies selling B2B or B2C
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills required. SQL proficiency a plus.
- World-class people management skills and a love of team building
- Ability to lead projects of varying size and scope simultaneously while prioritizing appropriately
- Excellent interpersonal skills and presentation experience
- Tenacious self-starter with the ability to work independently
