Director, Product Design

Position Overview

Blockdaemon is seeking a Director of Product Design to lead our growing design organization and drive the vision, strategy, and execution of user-centered design across our product ecosystem. As a senior leader, you will guide a team of designers to create frictionless, engaging, and scalable experiences across Blockdaemon’s core products—wallet, staking, and APIs.

This role requires a blend of strategic thinking, operational leadership, and hands-on design expertise. You will partner closely with product management, engineering, marketing, and executive leadership to shape our product direction, ensure consistency across platforms, and elevate our design practice. The ideal candidate is a proven leader who combines craft excellence with the ability to inspire, mentor, and align cross-functional teams around a shared vision.

Your Impact

• Define and champion the design vision and strategy for Blockdaemon’s product suite, ensuring alignment with company objectives and customer needs.

• Build, mentor, and scale a high-performing product design team, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous learning.

• Drive end-to-end design excellence—from research and concept exploration to polished, production-ready design systems and user experiences.

• Partner with product and engineering leadership to align roadmaps, set priorities, and deliver solutions that balance user needs, technical feasibility, and business goals.

• Establish and maintain a robust design system that enables scalability and consistency across products.

• Represent design at the leadership table, influencing company strategy with insights into customer behaviors, emerging trends, and competitive benchmarks.

• Promote a strong design culture across the organization by facilitating workshops, design critiques, and cross-functional ideation sessions.

• Ensure effective communication and collaboration across design, product, engineering, and marketing teams.

Role Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in UX/UI or product design, with at least 3–5 years in a leadership role managing teams and scaling design functions.

• Proven success leading design for data-rich, complex digital products (preferably web and mobile).

• Exceptional interaction and visual design skills with a portfolio demonstrating business impact and user-centric design outcomes.

• Strong experience building and maintaining design systems at scale.

• Deep proficiency in Figma and other modern design and prototyping tools.

• Excellent leadership, communication, and storytelling skills; comfortable presenting to executives, partners, and customers.

• Ability to balance strategic vision with hands-on involvement when necessary.

• Based in the Eastern Time Zone, US.

Nice-to-Have Skills

• Crypto, fintech, or B2B SaaS experience, ideally within startup or high-growth environments.

• Background in conducting or overseeing user research and applying insights to strategic design decisions.

• Experience influencing product strategy and roadmap development at the leadership level.
