The Role

Title: Director Procurement
This position is required to be in the Campbell, CA office five days a week.

What You’ll Do
This position will oversee and provide direction for all procurement-related activities, including long-term strategic planning and supplier management.  The role involves developing and implementing key relationships and processes that align with corporate priorities while guiding the team in executing plans that meet business needs successfully. The Director will be responsible for the entire procurement process, from early development through commercial release, ensuring effective risk management, cost savings, and strong supplier partnerships. Additionally, this role will drive continuous improvement across procurement operations by establishing processes and initiatives that ensure supply partners consistently meet quality, service, and financial objectives.
  • Develop supply plans and category strategies to achieve cost savings and improve quality and service levels by identifying opportunity areas such as product standardization and supplier consolidation.
  • Create, communicate and manage Procurement policies, procedures and processes.
  • Build and develop relationships at the executive level with suppliers and partners to ensure contractual commitment, alignment and accountability to business objectives and product quality and regulatory requirements.
  • Provide direction and offer leadership to assigned team members for their professional growth and development ensuring each individual’s competencies and deliverables are aligned with and contribute to organizational goals and objectives.
  • Establish and monitoring KPI programs to assess the performance effectiveness of our internal procurement team and external partners.
  • Set annual goals and objectives, (including stretch targets), in accordance with corporate strategic objectives and manage team performance to ensure attainment.
  • Collaborate in close partnership with the Finance organization, own all budgetary and operational aspects of the procurement function, including direct responsibility for materials management.
  • Ensure timely acquisition of materials to support current and future products by actively participating in demand planning and new product development with R&D.
  • Identify business risks and implement solutions that scale with the growth of the business.
  • Establish a culture focused on continuous process improvements aimed at achieving predictability and efficient operations.
What You’ll Bring:
  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, business or related discipline and a minimum of 10 years of progressively increasing responsibility in supply chain, or procurement management plus a minimum of 3 years of managerial experience; or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • Direct management experience in a medical device or regulated environment is preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to build, lead, and develop high performing teams.
  • Proven ability to define expectations in ambiguity and influence change, decision making and actions at all levels within an organization regardless of reporting structure and with external stakeholders.
  • Strong ability to transform strategic objectives into executable action plans.
  • Demonstrated experience in problem solving, issue-resolution, the ability to multitask while providing direction to achieve short- and long-term area goals.
  • Strong verbal communication skills with demonstrated ability to engage and influence senior executives.
  • Excellent analytical and detail-oriented skills are required.
  • Proven negotiation abilities to forge strong relationships and maintain credibility internally and with suppliers abroad.

Salary Range: $199,000 – 219,000 annually

Imperative Care considers factors such as scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, and internal equity, as well as location, market and business considerations when extending an offer.  As part of our total rewards package, Imperative Care offers comprehensive benefits including a 401k plan, health benefits, generous PTO, a parental leave program and emotional health resources.
