Regeneron is looking for a Director of Sustainability to join our growing Global Procurement team. This role will be accountable to develop a thoughtful procurement sustainability strategy and promote a sustainability culture across our Global Procurement team. This is a brand new role and an exciting opportunity to collaborate across the enterprise to build a progressive program that will help Regeneron meet both its business and sustainability goals.
This role is based at our Corporate HQ in Tarrytown, NY with hybrid onsite work (3 days a week) and is not open to fully remote assignments.
A Typical Day May Include
- Developing our procurement sustainability strategy and managing program elements.
- Working independently to drive value for spend categories by maintaining an effective and efficient procurement sustainability program.
- Researching external data sources to understand industry trends, regulations and best practices to improve Regeneron’s sustainability program and identifies tools and technology to enable sustainable procurement.
- Advising category teams on sustainability efforts during category strategy development, competitive sourcing events, and supplier outreach as required.
- Ensuring relevant and accurate visualization of sustainability project data to identify areas for investment and drive other decision-making. Develops and tracks KPIs to report progress on sustainability goals
- Lead cross-functional sustainability projects, including waste reduction, energy efficiency, emissions reduction, water conservation, and responsible sourcing as assigned.
- Collaborates with regulatory bodies, external stakeholders, and internal colleagues to drive value for Regeneron through sustainable procurement efforts.
- Promote a sustainability culture and increase employee engagement in sustainable practices through training and other resources.

- Have experience building influential relationships with stakeholders and suppliers to drive results.
- Demonstrate success leading cross-functional teams to drive results through sustainability efforts.
- Are an individual who is experienced operating with integrity, focus, and clarity in an environment of ambiguity to drive change and improvement.
- Have experience building and/or managing a procurement sustainability program is preferred.
- Can demonstrate familiarity with environmental regulations, sustainability reporting standards and lifecycle assessments.
To be considered for this role you must have a minimum of a Bachelor's degree plus 10+ years of progressive experience within procurement, supply chain and vendor management, including 5 yrs. within a sustainability / diversity procurement program. Industry experience within a Pharma/BioPharma or Manufacturing environment is required.
