Organization: People Responsibilities/ Reporting Line / Partnerships:

The role reports to the SVP of Operations and directly supports the sourcing and supply needs for materials, services, outsourced products and planning throughout the Americas and leveraged for scale to benefit the total enterprise.
  • Collaborates with GGS business leaders, Supply Chain leaders, Product Management leaders, Service leaders, Sales leaders and the Global Sourcing teams, working across a broad global vendor base.
  • Directly manages a team of – 8 procurement/purchasing/planning staff in North America with dotted-line support for Latin America.
  • Manages key relationships with GGS suppliers as part of an integrated and collaborative multifunctional team.
     

Key Responsibilities
Responsible for the procurement of products in support of the businesses where scope is frequently global. Ensure needs are fulfilled with the optimum quality, service, delivery, and cost to use, which are consistent with the needs of internal customers, and meet short and long-term requirements.
  • Lead purchasing and planning groups and oversee daily operations of the procurement, purchasing and planning functions as the hands-on leader that understands and performs the daily tactical and strategic functions for North America.
  • Evaluate business needs, make recommendations and support process improvement efforts in Latin America for Procurement, Purchasing and Planning to improve efficiencies and profitability.
  • Lead Procurement, Purchasing and Planning efforts for North America’s next generation ERP platform.
  • Ensure appropriate Supply Management Teams function with a global perspective or facilitate / lead the establishment of global teams as needed.
  • Develop and drive operational excellence / continuous improvement.
  • Actively develop and manage supplier performance using key performance indicators and scorecard development, business reviews and effective contract change/dispute management process.
  • Ensure adherence to all safety, health, and environmental rules and regulations.
  • Keep abreast of changing industry trends.
  • Create and implement regional procurement strategies that are innovative, cost-effective, and incorporate the growing complexities and challenges within industry.
  • Establish and execute a monthly supply plan and an inventory management strategy to balance the manufacturing capacity with customer demand, inventory targets, and project timelines.
  • Ensure application of established corporate financial controls within the department by providing operating management direction and support to the implementation and maintenance of financial policies, instructions, and internal control procedures.
  • Lead the development, communication and implementation of Global Procurement objectives, operating philosophies, business strategies and organizational visions.
  • Shape and sustain an effective, motivated team that delivers desired business results by providing vision and direction, building trust, selecting, coaching and developing team members, leveraging individual abilities and ensuring best practices are utilized.
  • Establish, measure and report supply chain metrics including schedule adherence and readiness, backorder dollars/boxes, finished goods and raw materials inventory turns.
  • Organize staff training, development, and performance reviews.

Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
Education Level:
  • Bachelor’s degree in related field and /or equivalent experience 
Qualifications: 
  • Extensive and broad managerial experience in team management.
  • Close working relationships with Business Teams and Business Support functions.
  • 8-10 years’ experience in increasingly broader supply chain or product supply roles with demonstrated track record of achievement and growth in leadership.
  • Preferred experiences:
    • Managing suppliers in a regulated environment 
    • Production planning / Sales and Operations Planning in a fast-paced environment.
 REQUIRED SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES 
  • Technical knowledge of contract negotiation strategies and global contracting nuances.
  • Leadership constituency within B2B and across the broader GGS Enterprise.
  • Demonstrated team leadership skills, including excellent communications and relationship building.
  • Strong skills and experience with diagnosing and resolving complex issues and opportunities within business sourcing models.
  • Able to make decisions with limited, but pertinent information to keep performance on track.
  • Demonstrated ability to create and lead a case for change including the ability to drive team engagement and the deliver breakthrough value creation.
  • Strong and demonstrated capabilities to provide strategic plans and thought leadership for the business and broader enterprise functions.
  • Able to be the face of the customer with suppliers and appropriately represent the needs of all internal stakeholders externally.
  • Experience within Procurement, Customer Demand Driven Supply, Product Supply, and or business support team leadership roles.
  • Ability to work in a matrix organization to drive collaboration across businesses and functions.
  • Ability to work with multiple diverse cultures.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and to develop a high performing team.
