About the Role

We are seeking a Director, Finance Process Owner (Source to Pay) to lead the optimization, governance, and transformation of Workday’s global Source to Pay value stream. This role serves as a foundational leader within a large source-to-pay transformation program, tasked with operationalizing value stream transformation. You will partner with cross-functional workstream leads to execute on critical milestones, including activities such as  the rollout of preferred supplier programs, automated contract lifecycle management, AI-driven procure-to-pay process optimization, among others. The Director will drive day-to-day execution and lead a team focused on delivering a frictionless, compliant, and scalable experience for employees, suppliers, and Finance. This role blends deep domain expertise with digital transformation leadership, partnering closely with Business, Technology Teams, and Program/Portfolio Management teams to showcase world-class use of Workday Financial Management and related capabilities.

Responsibilities:

  • Drive delivery of transformation program workstreams, ensuring alignment with program success metrics such as cycle time optimization, procurement savings, spend compliance, supplier performance, AI-enabled process adoption, among others.

  • Define, maintain, and evolve global end-to-end process standards for the Source to Pay value stream, including supplier lifecycle management, requisitioning, sourcing, purchasing, receiving, invoicing, expense management, and payment execution.

  • Establish governance frameworks that create clear ownership, consistent controls, and seamless handoffs across Procurement, Finance, Treasury, Tax, Legal, and business stakeholders.

  • Partner with controllership, internal audit, tax, and compliance teams to ensure process integrity, SOX compliance, audit readiness, appropriate segregation of duties, and adherence to global regulatory and policy requirements.

  • Champion an efficient and scalable supplier experience across onboarding, data maintenance, purchase order collaboration, invoice submission, payment inquiries, and issue resolution.

  • Identify, prioritize, and eliminate process friction across the Source to Pay lifecycle, reducing manual work, rework, exception handling, and cycle times.

  • Balance global process consistency with local business, tax, statutory, and payment requirements to establish scalable standards that enable growth.

  • Develop and manage KPIs that measure process health and business outcomes, such as requisition-to-purchase-order cycle time, purchase-order compliance, touchless invoice rate, invoice exception rate, on-time payment performance, early-payment discount capture, and cost per invoice.

  • Lead continuous-improvement initiatives that improve spend visibility, policy compliance, working-capital outcomes, and the employee and supplier experience.

  • Partner with Product and Business Technology to design, implement, and maximize scalable, system-driven Source to Pay processes powered by Workday. Focus areas include intelligent supplier onboarding, guided buying, automated invoice matching, payment controls, exception management, and real-time analytics.

  • Champion, test and pilot new Workday features and AI capabilities across Procurement, Expenses, Supplier Accounts, and Financial Management. Provide actionable feedback to Product Management that helps shape the future of the platform.

  • Lead and mentor Business Analysts, fostering a culture of curiosity, accountability, process discipline, and delivery excellence.

  • Develop the team’s expertise in Source to Pay design, controls, data, automation, and Workday functionality.

Our Approach to Flexible Work

With Flex Work, we’re combining the best of both worlds: in-person time and remote. Our approach enables our teams to deepen connections, maintain a strong community, and do their best work. We know that flexibility can take shape in many ways, so rather than a number of required days in-office each week, we simply spend at least half (50%) of our time each quarter in the office or in the field with our customers, prospects, and partners (depending on role). This means you'll have the freedom to create a flexible schedule that caters to your business, team, and personal needs, while being intentional to make the most of time spent together. Those in our remote "home office" roles also have the opportunity to come together in our offices for important moments that matter.
