ATI is seeking a Director of Process Control & Automation (PC&A) to join our Specialty Rolled Products group for our Natrona Heights, PA facility. The Director of Process Control & Automation (PC&A) leads the digital manufacturing strategy for the Specialty Rolled Products business. This role ensures automation systems, process technology, and digital tools deliver sustainable business value through improved safety, quality, productivity, reliability, and cost performance. Reporting to the Head of Operations, the Director oversees a centralized team, guiding the development of technical standards, organizational capability, and long-term automation strategy across all operating facilities.
Essential Functions
- Deliver measurable improvements in manufacturing performance through automation, process models, and digital systems.
- Lead and develop a high-performing technical organization through effective staffing, training, succession planning, and resource deployment.
- Establish and maintain automation architecture, technical standards, engineering processes, and lifecycle management practices.
- Align PC&A priorities and investments with business and manufacturing strategy through strong partnerships with plant and functional leaders.
- Oversee execution of operational support, capital projects, and continuous improvement initiatives while maximizing long-term value.
- Provide strategic leadership to Senior Managers overseeing Level 1 Automation, Systems Integration & Manufacturing Applications, and Process Models & Advanced Process Control.
- Implement management systems that promote consistent execution, technical excellence, organizational sustainability, and continuous improvement.
- Foster collaboration across technical disciplines and build trusted relationships with manufacturing leadership.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related technical field; Masters degree preferred.
- Minimum 10 years of relevant technical experience in automation, process control, digital manufacturing, or related engineering disciplines.
- Demonstrated success implementing automation or digital technology strategies in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience managing capital projects, engineering portfolios, and long‑term technology roadmaps.
- Strong understanding of industrial control systems, automation platforms, process modeling, and advanced process control preferred.
