Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Director, Privacy to lead our global privacy function. This role will oversee our enterprise-wide privacy strategy, governance, and compliance programs, ensuring we meet regulatory obligations while enabling innovation.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain the company’s global privacy program, policies and standards.
- Act as Tricentis Data Protection Officer.
- Lead and manage the company’s ISO/IEC 27701 compliance program in coordination with GRC Office, including audits, certifications and ongoing improvements.
- Monitor and interpret evolving global privacy and data protection laws and regulations (e.g., GDPR, e-Privacy Directive, CCPA/CPRA, PIPEDA, PDPA and Australian Privacy Act) and ensure timely operationalization.
- Develop data protection provisions, addendums and standards for global contract templates, playbooks, and training and enablement materials.
- Advise and provide transaction support to commercial contracting team on data provisions in commercial contracts.
- Advise and support sales, professional services and marketing teams on design and execution of GTM activities and service delivery to comply with applicable laws and regulations.
- Partner with Procurement team and act as Privacy member of Technology Oversight Board to ensure that all Tricentis purchases have the appropriate data protection contract provisions.
- Partner with the IP & Product Counsel to integrate privacy-by-design into product development, align AI governance with privacy standards, and address cross-border regulatory challenges.
- Partner with Product Security and Security teams in incident response activities and ensure compliance with global breach notification requirements.
- Oversee OneTrust operations including data subject rights processes and data mapping in coordination with Legal Ops team.
- Advise senior leadership and business teams on privacy risks, mitigation strategies, and regulatory obligations.
- Establish and deliver privacy training and awareness programs across the organization.
- Build and lead a high-performing global privacy team.
Skills / Experience:
- Deep understanding of global privacy frameworks, regulations, and standards (e.g., GDPR, e-Privacy Directive, CCPA/CPRA, PDPA, Australian Privacy Act, ISO/IEC 27701).
- Demonstrated success building or managing ISO/IEC 27701 or equivalent privacy compliance programs.
- Demonstrated experience as a Data Protection Officer.
- Demonstrated experience working with security leadership and security teams as a stakeholder during security incidents.
- Demonstrated ability to build cross-functional relationships and lead enterprise-wide governance initiatives.
- Demonstrated experience with OneTrust.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and able to effectively communicate with other business stakeholders regarding complex legal and regulatory considerations.
- Strong interpersonal skills; ability to influence and collaborate across a global, matrixed organization.
- Adept at analyzing and applying complex legal and regulatory frameworks to business operations and developing pragmatic solutions.
- Familiarity with AI governance frameworks and experience collaborating with product or IP counsel on emerging technology issues preferred.
- Exceptional contract drafting, interpretation and negotiation skills.
- Excellent leadership and project management skills.
- Results-oriented, resourceful and able to problem-solve.
- Able to balance legal considerations with strategic objectives.

Qualifications
- Qualified to practice law in Ireland or another EU member state.
- IAPP certification (CIPP/E, CIPP/US)
- 10+ years of experience in privacy, data protection and compliance with 5+ years in-house with a global software company
