The Role

The Director of Pricing and Yield Management is accountable for leading the development and execution of our pricing strategy and optimizing yield across the entire $29B portfolio for the Bank. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of pricing methodologies, yield management, and market analysis, along with exceptional leadership skills to guide a dynamic team.

Position Responsibilities:

Leadership (25%)

  • Lead and mentor a team of pricing professionals dedicated to pricing strategy, analysis and modeling.
  • Foster effective people leadership and employee engagement through coaching, mentorship, and recognition and rewards.
  • Lead and inspire the team to achieve business objectives, promoting a culture of excellence, teamwork, and high performance.
  • Drive a culture of continuous learning, growth, and accountability, creating an environment that encourages innovation, collaboration, and professional development.
  • Work closely with business line teams to ensure alignment and effective execution of pricing strategies.

Strategic Pricing and Yield Management (25%)

  • Develop and implement pricing strategies: Formulate comprehensive pricing strategies to optimize revenue and market share while considering competitive dynamics and customer demand.
  • Analyze market trends: Monitor and analyze market conditions, trends, and competitor pricing and pricing strategies to identify opportunities and threats.
  • Lead the end to end execution of rate changes across the Bank’s product suite, in consultation with product owners
  • Yield management: Implement yield management techniques to maximize revenue from inventory and resources, balancing supply and demand.
  • Pricing models: Develop and maintain sophisticated pricing models and tools to support decision-making and forecasting.
  • Deliver new pricing capabilities, working with external consultants and technologies as required, to enhance the Bank’s ability to optimize yield
  • Revenue optimization: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize pricing and revenue strategies across different channels and customer segments.
  • Ensure customer level pricing remains compliance throughout the product lifecycle
  • Establish strong governance and oversight for discretionary price levers in third party sales channels

Data Analysis and Reporting (50%)

  • Develop robust datasets for modeling price sensitivity & customer level pricing
  • Performance metrics: Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of pricing and yield management strategies.
  • Data-driven insights: Utilize advanced data analytics and reporting tools to derive actionable insights and inform pricing decisions.
  • Regular reporting: Generate regular reports and presentations to communicate pricing performance, market trends, and strategic recommendations to senior management.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Economics, Finance, or a related field. MBA, advanced degree, CFA or professional accounting designation is an asset.
  • 5-10 years experience in mortgage, deposit and/or lending pricing, revenue management, or a related field.
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and make data-driven decisions.
  • Strategic mindset with the ability to think critically and develop innovative pricing and yield management strategies.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex information to diverse audiences.
  • Proven leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a team to achieve exceptional results.
  • Strong negotiation and influencing skills to effectively collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Driven by results with a strong focus on achieving and exceeding targets.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing market conditions.
  • Meticulous attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy and quality.

Salary range is expected to be between

$104,325.00 CAD - $187,785.00 CAD
