We're seeking a future team member for the role of Director, Chief of Staff to the Chief Product & Innovation Officer within the Product & Innovation Hub. This role is located in New York.

In this role, you'll make an impact in the following ways:

  • Serve as a trusted strategic advisor and thought partner to the Chief Product & Innovation Officer, helping shape priorities, drive decision-making, and ensure execution against the organization's most critical objectives
  • Drive cross-functional alignment across the Product and Innovation Hub and partners, ensuring visibility, accountability, and timely delivery of strategic initiatives. Bring structure and rigor to complex and ambiguous challenges by synthesizing information from multiple stakeholders into clear recommendations, decisions, and action plans
  • Develop executive-level communications, including board materials, leadership presentations, strategic narratives, speaking engagements, and internal communications that effectively articulate the Product & Innovation strategy
  • Manage and coordinate the Chief Product & Innovation Officer’s strategic agenda, ensuring focus on high-impact initiatives while proactively identifying risks, dependencies, and opportunities
  • Support key client, partner, and industry engagements by preparing briefing materials, coordinating internal stakeholders, and helping represent the organization's innovation and product vision externally
  • Act as an extension of the Chief Product and Innovation Officer, fostering collaboration, communication, and alignment across senior leadership teams and business functions

To be successful in this role, we're seeking the following:

  • Extensive experience in strategy, business management, chief of staff, product management, innovation, consulting, or related leadership roles within financial services
  • Demonstrated experience supporting senior executives and driving strategic initiatives across complex, matrixed organizations
  • Strong grounding in traditional financial services products and infrastructure, including securities services, payments, collateral management, investment management, or wealth management
  • Exceptional executive communication and presentation skills, with the ability to distill complex topics into concise, compelling narratives tailored for senior leaders, boards, clients, and external stakeholders
  • Proven ability to influence and align senior stakeholders across functions, driving collaboration and execution without direct authority
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a demonstrated ability to navigate ambiguity, prioritize effectively, and make sound recommendations
  • Experience leading strategic planning, operating rhythms, governance processes, and organizational initiatives
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and execution-focused, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, innovation-driven environment
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or a related field; advanced degree preferred

    BNY assesses market data to ensure a competitive compensation package for our employees. The expected base salary for this position when employment commences can be found in the Job Info section at the bottom of the posting. 

    Base salary offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Base salary is only part of the total rewards package, which may include eligibility for an annual discretionary incentive award. Subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable plans then in effect, eligible employees may enroll in a 401(k) plan as well as participate in Company-sponsored medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance plans for the employee and the employee’s eligible dependents. Eligible employees also may receive other benefits (including various paid time off benefits, such as vacation and sick time), dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.

    If hired, the employee will be in an “at will” position and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payments or compensation programs) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
