This strategic Business Development position is responsible for cultivating and securing long-term, data and identity-focused partnerships within the political landscape. You will be instrumental in expanding the adoption of Samba TV’s advanced data, measurement, and AI solutions among political agencies, committees, and candidate campaigns. We seek a highly motivated and technologically astute individual with outstanding communication skills, a deep understanding of the political advertising ecosystem, and a proven ability to forge enduring relationships in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. This role offers significant opportunities to influence our product roadmap and shape our strategic sales and marketing efforts.

Responsibilities

  • Lead strategic data and identity partnerships with DC political agencies, national party committees, and top-tier candidate campaigns, guiding them in evolving their approach to voter targeting, cross-platform measurement, and identity resolution leveraging Samba TV’s advanced capabilities.
  • Drive the full business development cycle for Samba TV’s comprehensive suite of AI-driven insights, measurement solutions, and data products, focusing on long-term value creation rather than transactional media buys.
  • Build and nurture trusted relationships with key decision-makers within political organizations, advocating for and educating them on Samba TV’s innovative approach to measuring and optimizing political ad campaigns across all screens.
  • Negotiate complex contracts and business terms with strategic partners, ensuring mutually beneficial agreements that align with long-term growth objectives.
  • Act as a sector knowledge leader on the evolving landscape of political advertising technology, data, identity, and AI applications, representing Samba TV at industry events and helping to shape market understanding ahead of key election cycles.
  • Collaborate closely with product, engineering, and customer success teams to manage partner integrations, communicate partner needs internally, and deliver tailored solutions that exceed strategic objectives.
  • Work cross-functionally within Samba TV to ensure successful partner onboarding, ongoing relationship health, and continuous expansion of data utilization.

Requirements

  • Deep bench of senior political and agency contacts within the campaign marketplace in DC, with proven ability to build and lead strategic relationships.
  • Minimum of 8+ years of progressive experience in strategic partnerships, business development, or data sales within political campaigns, advocacy, or the digital media/ad tech sector.
  • Demonstrated expertise in data and identity-driven sales, with a strong preference for candidates who have focused on strategic data licensing, advanced analytics, and identity resolution rather than traditional IO/campaign-oriented media activation.
  • Proven track record of performing against quotas and excelling in highly competitive, complex sales environments.
  • Exceptional strategic, consultative, and analytical sales approach, with a focus on problem-solving and building enduring partnerships.
  • Strong understanding of ad tech infrastructure, data ecosystems, and privacy regulations relevant to political advertising.
  • Customer-focused leadership with excellent communication, negotiation, and networking skills, capable of engaging with C-suite executives and technical stakeholders.
  • Willingness to travel as needed and engage with clients during evenings and occasionally weekends.
  • Strong references from partners, customers, and colleagues demonstrating a collaborative and results-oriented approach.
