Functions as department head with responsibility to assist maintenance employees to engage in maintaining, repairing and operating equipment. Completes established competencies for the position within designated introductory period. Other related duties as assigned.

Responsibilities
  • Establishes goals and objectives that support overall strategic plans of the facility/Baptist Health System
     
  •  Develops and manages the annual department operating and capital budgets
     
  •  Directs daily operations of assigned department/s
     
  •  Directs performance of staff
     
  •  Maintains objectivity in decision making, utilizing facts to support decisions
     
  •  Supports the mission statement, policies and procedures of the Baptist Health System
     
  •  Manages to eliminate boundaries to achieve integrated, efficient and quality service
     
  •  Achieves ongoing compliance with all regulatory agencies
     
  •  Serves as a resource to employees and customers as demonstrated by visibility and knowledge of issues
     
  •  Demonstrates flexibility in response to change
Qualifications

MINIMUM EDUCATION: High School Graduate
PREFERRED EDUCATION: Bachelor’s Degree
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE: 5 years in healthcare field
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: 10 years of supervisory or management experience in hospital of over 125 beds, or similar experience. JCAHO and Life Safety Code experience. Knowledge of State Hospital licensing standards.
REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURE: NA
PREFERRED CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURE: Professional Engineering Certification (PE) of Certified Healthcare Facility Manager (CHFM)
REQUIRED COURSES/ COMPLETIONS (e.g., CPR): NA
