The Director of Pharmacy will lead all aspects of pharmacy operations, including planning, organizing, and supervising services in alignment with hospital policies, professional standards, and regulatory requirements. You will collaborate with hospital leadership to implement innovative pharmacy practices, supported by proprietary CPS software, a dedicated support team including experts in operations, clinical, and regulatory as well as a CPS Area Director or Senior Vice President.
About the Facility: Southridge Behavioral Hospital incorporates modern, innovative, and evidence-based care focused on adult individual needs, comfort and safety. The new facility, which opened in March 2025, is located at 6291 Venture Hills Boulevard SW, in Byron Center, has 96 adult and geriatric inpatient beds. The hospital's design incorporates today's modern, innovative, evidence-based care elements that focus on patient safety offering both inpatient and outpatient services. Programming is tailored to individual patient needs, with core psychiatric services and counseling supplemented by enrichment activities such as art therapy, music therapy, pet therapy, and outdoor activity. Optum/CPS Solutions, LLC has partnered with the hospital to manage the day-to-day operations of this pharmacy. This position is an employee of Optum/CPS Solutions, LLC.
Schedule: This is a full-time position - Monday-Friday, 8:00am to 4:30pm. Longer hours may be required as business necessitates.
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Provide strategic leadership and oversight for all pharmacy services within a single hospital, aligning operations with the hospital's clinical, quality, and financial goals
  • Ensure safe, effective, and evidence-based medication use, overseeing clinical pharmacy practice, medication safety, and formulary management
  • Lead, develop, and hold accountability for pharmacy leadership and staff, including managers, pharmacists, technicians, and support teams
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory, accreditation, and legal requirements, including Joint Commission, CMS, USP, BOP and state/federal laws
  • Oversee pharmacy financial performance, including budgeting, purchasing, contract management, and cost-containment initiatives
  • Collaborate with executive leadership and interdisciplinary stakeholders, supporting system-wide patient care, quality, and safety initiatives
  • Drive innovation, performance improvement, and strategic growth, leveraging data, technology, and best practices to advance pharmacy services

Required Qualifications:
  • ACPE-accredited PharmD degree or BS of Pharmacy
  • Active State of Michigan pharmacist license in good standing
  • Active State of Michigan controlled license in good standing
  • 2+ years of pharmacy management experience
  • Management experience in a healthcare/hospital environment

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). The salary for this role will range from $112,700 to $193,200 annually based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
