What Health System Pharmacy Director contributes to Cardinal Health
Health System Pharmacy Director is responsible for providing customized pharmacy program solutions that reduce costs and improve patient care quality for hospitals, health systems and other integrated healthcare providers may also consult with and advise healthcare team on prescribed medications, supplies and related processes.

Accountabilities
- Participates in any required committee, according with the By Laws of the Hospital.
- Leads the Pharmacy and Therapeutics (P&T) committee and report it to the Faculty Committee.
- Will be liaison between Hospital Pharmacy Department and other Departments in the Hospital: Nursing, Quality, Faculty and Finance, among other.
- Develop, modifies and/or implement Policies and Procedures, according to the State and Federal regulations that support the good and normal functioning of the Hospital Pharmacy Department.
- Ensures that the Hospital Pharmacy Department operates under the required quality and accreditation standards.
- Develops, implements and maintains programs that ensure the quality and continues improvements process at the Hospital Pharmacy Department.
- Supervises the medication and pharmacy supplies acquisition process to ensure adequate inventory in accordance with industry standards and to meet the needs of patients.
- Manages Hospital Pharmacy Department operations and supervises the staff, according with the Customer Human Resources’ polices and daily tasks in the Pharmacy.
- Identifies personnel needs and participates in the selection and recruitment process.
- Provides training and leads departmental meetings to pharmacy personnel and other health professionals to assure compliance with the state regulations and the continuity of the pharmacy operations.
- Complies and carries out infection control practices (use of robes, hand washing, among others) at the Hospital Pharmacy Department.
- Ensure participation of the Hospital Pharmacy Department in meetings, activities and/or from other areas, such as: quality, safety and infection control, patient and family education program, educational activities, among others.
- Availability to work in Ponce.
Qualifications
- A minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy required; PharmD is preferred.
- Must have active Puerto Rico Pharmacist License and Registration.
- A minimum of three or more (3+) years of administrative pharmacy experience or similar experience in a hospital setting is required.
- Strong people management and attention to detail skills.
- Must have customer service skills.
- Availability to work extended hours.
- Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Power Point) intermediate level skills are required.
- Fully bilingual English and Spanish oral and written is required
