Location: In office position based out of our Houston or Austin office or Fully Remote role 

Summary Description: 

We are seeking an accomplished and highly experienced Healthcare Revenue Cycle Management Consultant to join our team. This is a pivotal role that will focus on optimizing revenue cycle performance and driving growth initiatives. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of healthcare revenue cycle operations, proven strategic advisory capabilities, and a strong track record of delivering measurable improvements across the revenue cycle. This role requires a strategic thinker with deep industry experience in Acute and Ambulatory Care, Physician Practice, and Outpatient Clinics.

Job Responsibilities:

  • KPI Assessment and Analysis:
    • Evaluate current revenue cycle KPIs and performance metrics across various service lines.
    • Analyze trends, identify gaps, and provide actionable insights to optimize performance.
    • Develop and implement KPI dashboards and reporting tools for ongoing performance monitoring and improvement.
  • Revenue Cycle Optimization:
    • Perform comprehensive assessments of the end-to-end revenue cycle, including patient access, coding, billing, and collections.
    • Identify inefficiencies, bottlenecks, and revenue leakage.
    • Propose and implement strategies to streamline processes, enhance revenue capture, and reduce cycle times.
  • Strategic Advisory:
    • Collaborate with healthcare organizations to understand their specific challenges and strategic objectives.
    • Provide expert advice on best practices, industry standards, regulatory compliance, and emerging trends in revenue cycle management.
    • Develop tailored strategies to address unique organizational needs and improve overall revenue cycle performance.
  • Change Management and Training:
    • Support organizations in implementing process changes and technology solutions.
    • Design and deliver training programs and workshops to ensure successful adoption of new procedures and tools.
    • Facilitate smooth transitions and foster a culture of continuous improvement and adherence to best practices.
  • Reporting and Documentation:
    • Prepare detailed reports and presentations for clients, summarizing findings, recommendations, and outcomes.
    • Document process changes, improvement initiatives, and success stories to support knowledge sharing and replication across the organization.
  • Client Relationship Management:
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, serving as a trusted advisor.
    • Address client concerns and provide ongoing support to ensure successful project outcomes and sustained improvements.


Skills and Education: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field. Advanced degree (e.g., MBA, MHA) preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in healthcare revenue cycle management, with a focus on strategic advisory, KPI assessment, and process improvement.
  • In-depth knowledge of revenue cycle processes, including coding, billing, collections, and payer relations.
  • Proficiency in data analysis, KPI development, and performance measurement with the ability to translate insights into actionable strategies.
  • Strong financial acumen and experience in articulating value propositions that align with business growth objectives
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to develop practical solutions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly and effectively engage and influence stakeholders at all levels
  • Experience with revenue cycle management software and tools.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., Certified Revenue Cycle Representative (CRCR), Certified Professional Coder (CPC), Certified Healthcare Financial Professional (CHFP)) are a plus.
