Role Summary and Impact
The Director, People Operations & Total Rewards, plays a pivotal role in shaping and executing the strategic direction of Compensation & Benefits and ensuring the seamless, compliant, and efficient functioning of all HR operations across WPP Media Indonesia. The individual will be a key strategic partner, responsible for designing and implementing robust C&B strategies, overseeing all HR operational functions, and contributing significantly to a thriving employee experience. This role will collaborate closely with the APAC Total Rewards team to ensure regional alignment and effective localization of strategies.
What you will do:
Compensation & Benefits (C&B)
- Design, develop, and implement strategic Compensation & Benefits frameworks and programs aligned with WPP Media's global Total Rewards philosophy and local market demands.
- Conduct comprehensive market analysis, benchmarking, and pay equity reviews to ensure competitive and equitable C&B structures that attract, retain, and motivate top talent.
- Manage and optimize benefits programs, ensuring they are competitive, cost-effective, and compliant with Indonesian regulations.
- Maintain in-depth knowledge of Indonesia’s regulatory frameworks for compensation and benefits, ensuring full compliance.
HR Operations Management & Compliance
- Ensure seamless, efficient, and compliant HR service delivery across all operational functions, fully aligned with Indonesia’s labour laws and global policies.
- Lead and optimize core HR operational processes including payroll administration, employee lifecycle management, and compliance audits.
- Drive continuous improvement in HR operational workflows to enhance efficiency, reduce risk, and improve the overall employee experience.
- Manage relationships with key HR vendors (e.g., payroll providers, benefits administrators) to ensure service level agreements are met and optimized.
HRIS Strategy, Integration & Optimization
- Act as the primary lead for global HR Information System (HRIS) rollouts and integrations within Indonesia, ensuring successful adoption, data integrity, and local configuration.
- Strategically identify opportunities to leverage HRIS capabilities to streamline processes, automate tasks, and enhance data reporting for operational and strategic insights.
- Partner with IT and global HRIS teams to ensure system functionality meets local needs and supports C&B and operational objectives effectively.
Strategic HR Partnering
- Serve as a strategic HR partner to country leaders, providing expert advice and solutions on HR operational matters, C&B challenges, and people-related issues.
- Collaborate with leaders to address operational challenges, standardize HR workflows, and ensure fair, transparent, and legally compliant HR practices.
Data-Driven Insights & Reporting
- Leverage HR analytics and data insights from HRIS and other sources to monitor C&B effectiveness, operational efficiency, compliance, and key workforce trends.
- Develop and present actionable reports and recommendations to leadership, informing strategic decisions and supporting continuous improvement across HR functions.
Talent Lifecycle Support
- Oversee the operational execution and compliance aspects of performance management, goal setting, and career development initiatives.
What you will need:
- 8+ years of progressive HR experience, with a significant and demonstrable focus on developing and executing strategic Compensation & Benefits initiatives in a complex, multi-national environment.
- Proven expertise in designing, implementing, and managing strategic C&B structures, policies, and programs, including market benchmarking, salary structures, incentive plans, and benefits administration.
- Exceptional proficiency in HR Operations management, with a strong track record of optimizing HR service delivery, payroll, HRIS, and compliance.
- In-depth knowledge of Indonesia’s labour laws and specific regulations pertaining to both general employment and compensation & benefits.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to leverage people analytics and data insights to inform strategic C&B decisions and drive HR operational improvements.
- Proven ability to lead HR functions, drive process improvements, and manage day-to-day operations with a focus on operational excellence.
- Excellent project management and change management skills, adept at navigating complex organizational structures and driving impactful change.
- Outstanding communication, influencing, and stakeholder management skills, capable of engaging effectively with senior leadership, regional partners, and employees.
- Resilience and adaptability to thrive in a fast-paced, matrixed, and evolving environment.
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field.
- Desirable: Relevant professional certifications (e.g., in Compensation, Benefits, or HR).
