The Director, People (Assignment: Team Member Relations) is accountable for leading Team Member Relations strategy, programs, and operations across WelbeHealth. This role provides enterprise leadership and oversight for team member relations investigations, workplace risk mitigation, policy interpretation, corrective action practices, supervisor capability building, and team member concern resolution processes. This role serves as a strategic partner to People leadership, Legal, Compliance, and Operational leaders to ensure team member relations practices are fair, consistent, compliant, and aligned with WelbeHealth’s values. The Director, People is a key part of the centralized team member relations function responsible for managing complex and high-risk workplace matters, strengthening leader capability, reducing organizational risk, and promoting a positive and respectful team member experience.

- Serves as a strategic, hands-on advisor to leaders and People partners, navigating complex team member relations matters, investigations, leave and workers’ compensation issues, accommodations, and employment policies, while partnering closely with Legal, Compliance, HRBPs, and operational leaders to drive thoughtful and consistent outcomes

On the day-to-day, you will:
- Lead the enterprise team member relations function, including investigations, performance management support, workplace conflict resolution, corrective action guidance, and workforce risk mitigation
- Develop and execute team member relations strategies, programs, frameworks, and operating models that support organizational effectiveness and positive team member experience
- Provide leadership and oversight for complex, sensitive, and high-risk team member relations matters, including allegations involving harassment, discrimination, retaliation, workplace misconduct, policy violations, and other sensitive concerns
- Provide strategic oversight for team member relations programs, including supervisor readiness initiatives, concierge support models, training programs, and leader capability development
- Partner with Learning, People Advisor, and Operational leaders to strengthen effectiveness in performance management, communication, workplace conduct, and issue resolution
- Oversee team member relations intake, triage, escalation, case coordination, and operational processes to ensure timely and effective support across the organization
- Analyze team member relations trends, metrics, and organizational data to identify themes, risks, and opportunities for improvement
Job Requirements Include:
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration, organizational development, employment law, or related field required; advanced degree or HR certification (SPHR, SHRM-SCP, or equivalent) preferred
- Minimum of ten (10) years of progressive experience with significant experience leading complex team member relations functions and workplace investigations; healthcare industry experience required
- Minimum of two (2) years of supervisory experience with demonstrated ability to mentor and develop team members is required
- Experience developing and implementing team member relations programs, operational frameworks, and workforce risk strategies
- Experience leading high-performing team member relations or human resources teams in a complex, multi-site organization
- Technically proficient personnel policies, especially the Family and Medical Leave Act, the Americans with Disabilities Act, and California employment and leave laws
- Substantive knowledge of as well as demonstrated resourcefulness in researching institutional policies and advanced knowledge of team member relations practices and programs, labor/employment law, and the principles of positive labor relations strategy
- Demonstrated experience partnering with Legal, Compliance, and executive leadership on high-risk team member relations matters
