The Director of People and Culture will provide strategic leadership for CHG’s people practices by overseeing our Employee Relations and Talent Planning teams who manage significant people and business impact. Through distinct employee relations and talent planning efforts, this leader ensures that talent practices not only mitigate risk but strengthen our culture, leadership effectiveness, and employee experience through our core values. Additionally, develop enterprise frameworks and methodologies that enable divisions to build strong talent pipelines, assess future skills needs, and align talent strategies with business objectives.
Success in this role looks like: Serving as a trusted advisor to senior leaders across the organization who balances healthy employee decisions with key business outcomes; applying an overall talent-management lens in your approach to ensure steps are made that drive fairness, consistency, and positive impact for both our people and the business; and leading and empowering both teams to be strategic, proactive, and effective in resolving critical people matters.
Responsibilities
Lead, coach, and develop a team of Employee Relations consultants to drive resolution on strategic and complex employee relations cases across all divisions
Oversee our Talent Planning function, ensuring robust processes for performance management, talent calibration, and upskilling based on talent profile needs
Provide executive-level consultation on talent planning, complex investigations, escalated conflict resolution, and enterprise wide organizational policies
Lead and participate in enterprise-level projects and initiatives for Employee Relations and Talent Planning
Serve as an escalation point and decision-maker for highly sensitive situations, ensuring balanced, consistent, and legally sound outcomes
Partner closely with senior leadership, People Business Partners, and our legal team to influence enterprise-wide approaches to ER, risk management, talent planning, and organizational health
Collaborate with our People Operations team on monitoring case data and talent metrics while ensuring policies, programs, and practices are consistent, scalable, and aligned
Anticipate emerging workforce trends to proactively shape talent and ER strategies that align with our business goals and CHG’s culture
Build scalable key cultural, employee relations, and talent planning initiatives to divisions and teams
Partner cross-functionally with other areas to integrate talent planning and ER insights and solutions into broader people and business strategies
Design, facilitate, and scale leader training, enablement and other solutions based on talent and ER trends
Serve as subject matter expert in employment law and company policy to ensure decisions are made in compliance with all applicable policies and regulations
Qualifications
7+ years of progressive HR experience, including significant time in an HRBP and/or direct Employee Relations/Talent Management leadership role
Strong leadership skills with proven experience managing and developing a high-performing team, specifically in leading systemic talent management initiatives
Deep knowledge of employment law, HR best practices, and organizational dynamics
Exceptional communication, influence, and executive presence with the ability to build trust across diverse stakeholders
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience; PHR or SHRMP-CP certification preferred
Experience leading projects and working exceptionally well both independently and with teams
Ability to foster and build relationships with sales teams, business partners, and in their own department that are collaborative and lead to effective problem solving
Comfortable and confident using HR systems and Microsoft Office Suite (Esp. Word and Excel)
Maintain strict confidentiality of employee information
Ability to effectively manage issues at multi-state locations
Ability to train and present to large groups
Ability to prioritize, manage time effectively, and multi-task
Ability to travel as required
We believe in fair compensation for all of our people, which is why our pay structure takes into account the cost of labor across U.S. geographic markets. For this position, we offer a pay range of $128,000 -- $276,900 annually, with pay varying depending on work location and job-related factors such as knowledge, position level and experience. During the hiring process, your recruiter can provide more information about the specific salary range for the job location.
CHG Healthcare offers starting salaries for sales positions in the form of total target compensation (TTC = base + commission + bonus), which includes base pay, commission, and bonuses. Sales positions receive short-term incentives through commission plans and bonuses. On the other hand, non-sales positions have starting salaries that consist of a base salary and short-term incentives through various bonus plans, which are paid out monthly, quarterly, or annually.
