The International team is a group of people from all over the world who come together to help grow our ever-expanding region in a great environment. What drives us is the desire to have an impact and make the International region shine whilst acting as one team, and a fun one!

The role

Reporting to the MD, International, as a player/coach, the Director of Partnerships, International will be responsible for setting the strategy and execution to drive strong growth of our partnerships across our International markets through the coaching and development of Partnerships managers as well as the development of their own portfolio of prospects. 

Building on the back of recent successes in the region, as a senior leader in the market, the Director of Partnerships will have to collaborate closely with all teams across GC to impact the Partnerships space in international (outside of the UK&I): ensuring the contribution of partnerships is drastically increased in the total revenue generated in the region. They will work hand in hand with the demand generation team, the sales leaders and the GM to ensure we maximise the value of partnerships in International. They will also build a relationship with key stakeholders across the business, including but not limited to solution engineers, compliance, legal etc.

As an expert in Partnerships building, Channel sales, SaaS sales and managing complex sales cycles, you will perfectly master Salesforce and all other tools we use (Salesloft, ZoomInfo, Slack, Zoom, Gong) whilst being a true MEDDPICC champion.

  • Create, build and develop new partnerships for GoCardless for the region
  • Developing and strengthening a growing but complex channel
  • Manage a team of Partnerships account managers responsible for the end-to-end cycle from prospecting to educating to contract-signed and nurturing of relationship
  • Set priorities and hold the team accountable for delivering against KPIs
  • Hire, onboard and manage talent in partnership with functional management
  • Work cross-functionally with teams and fellow managers to build, implement and streamline tools and processes to drive intended business results
  • Being a key leader with the International team

What excites us  

  • Proven track record of developing channel sales at scale with complex partners
  • Experience in the payments space
  • Great ability to identify, target and secure key partnerships in the region
  • Excellent listening and verbal communication skills: you will need to quickly understand needs or issues and give guidance to help the team move forward and unlock partnerships opportunities
  • Impeccable communication skills in French and English. German, Spanish or other European languages are a plus
  • Develop strong relationships with peers and leaders across GoCardless to solve problems and achieve excellent results.
  • Ideally have experience within SaaS companies
  • MEDDIC or MEDDPICC-trained
