Edwards is looking for a Director of Organizational Effectiveness (OE) to join our Organizational Effectiveness team. Our Organizational Effectiveness team is a tight knit internal consulting team responsible for running multiple strategic projects across different Business Units, regions, and functions at Edwards Lifesciences. This is an exciting opportunity to have a significant impact to a wide variety of functional areas within our multibillion-dollar global organization.

Our ideal candidate possesses a management consulting background with proven experiences in leading a cross-functional teams to deliver strategic projects that are high-profile and fast. This role will partner with Executive Leadership, HR Leaders, and business stakeholders to address the people and organization factors as Edwards scales for growth. This position will be on-site located at our Irvine headquarters.

How you’ll make an impact:  

  • Partner with leaders to develop and execute global organizational effectiveness strategies in alignment with enterprise goals. Collaborate with business and HR leaders across regions to implement key initiatives, track progress, and ensure delivery of measurable business value. Manage cross-functional efforts to operationalize strategic priorities and scale best practices globally.

  • Develop and deliver T&O strategy in collaboration with Heads of HR, for the most complex strategies. Architect complex high-impact transformational initiatives at scale affecting larger employee base, multiple business units and/or functions, with focus on the people impact to ensure ROI on significant initiatives.

  • Monitor and analyze evolving organizational needs and trends in organizational psychology to inform enterprise strategies. Partner with business leaders and HR stakeholders to translate insights into actionable solutions that enhance team effectiveness and support enterprise-wide initiatives.

  • Develop complex organizational effectiveness (e.g., Organizational Design, Ways of Working and Workforce Planning) strategies for business initiatives that may have global or regional impact

  • Identify gaps in the organization related to operating model and organizational design and influence and provide guidance to ELT/SLT leaders to ensure effective organizations are positioned for future growth.

What you’ll need (Required): 

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science or other related technical areas and 12 years direct experience in organizational effectiveness (e.g., OE/Workforce Planning/ or organizational design strategy, including business case analysis and communications) or equivalent work experience based on Edward's criteria

  • Or master’s degree in engineering, computer science or other related technical areas and 10 years of experience or equivalent work experience based on Edward's criteria

  • Occasional travel, up to 30% annually, may be required to support business needs

What else we look for (Preferred):  

  • Strong technical/science-based backgrounds that foster systems thinking, or management consulting experience with strong facilitation and problem-solving skills

  • Expert Business understanding of organizational effectiveness 

  • Excellent presentation and facilitation skill

  • Excellent problem-solving, organizational, analytical and critical thinking skills

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and interpersonal relationship skills including consultative and relationship management skills with ability to drive achievement of objectives

  • Proven success in managing two or more concurrent projects and initiatives

  • Recognized as an expert in one area (e.g., Organizational Design, OCM, Workforce Planning) with specialized depth within the organization

  • Expert knowledge and understanding of EW policies, procedures, and requirements as it relates to organizational effectiveness

  • Excellent leadership and influencing skills

  • Ability to manage internal and external confidential information with utmost discretion

  • Strict attention to detail

  • Ability to interact professionally with all organizational levels and proactively escalate issues to appropriate levels of management in the organization

  • Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast paced environment

  • Represents leadership on projects within multiple areas, interfacing with project managers, client groups and middle management

  • Consult in project setting within multiple areas, interfacing with low to middle management

  • Provides leadership to outsourcing partners on a task level, participates on small scale RFP

Aligning our overall business objectives with performance, we offer competitive salaries, performance-based incentives, and a wide variety of benefits programs to address the diverse individual needs of our employees and their families.

For California, the base pay range for this position is $156,000 to $215,000 (highly experienced). The pay for the successful candidate will depend on various factors (e.g., qualifications, education, prior experience). Applications will be accepted while this position is posted on our Careers website.
