Position Overview: The Director of Operations will lead the day-to-day operations across XLR8’s five terminals, driving operational excellence, profitability, and customer satisfaction. The ideal candidate will possess deep experience in intermodal trucking and multi-terminal operations, with a proven ability to lead teams, manage complex logistics, and execute strategic initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage operations at all five XLR8 terminals in Tennessee, Texas, and Georgia.
- Ensure operational efficiency across intermodal, brokerage, and truckload services, meeting company KPIs and customer expectations.
- Lead, coach, and mentor terminal managers and operational staff to improve performance and foster a high-performance culture.
- Monitor and optimize fleet utilization, cost control, and service levels to maximize profitability and minimize downtime.
- Collaborate closely with senior leadership to implement strategic plans and initiatives that align with corporate goals.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives in operational processes, safety standards, and customer service.
- Oversee compliance with industry regulations, including safety and environmental standards.
- Prepare regular reports on operational performance, including productivity, revenue, and cost metrics.
- Travel to different terminal locations as needed (25% travel required).
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in intermodal operations, with expertise in managing multiple terminals.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in brokerage and truckload operations.
- Strong knowledge of logistics, transportation regulations, and intermodal trucking best practices.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and guide teams across multiple locations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Ability to analyze data, develop strategies, and execute action plans to improve operational performance.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience working with fleet management software and TMS (Transportation Management Systems).
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to a fast-paced environment.
- Proven track record of improving operational efficiencies and driving revenue growth.
The expected salary range for this role is $125,000 to $175,000. The actual base pay offered will be determined on factors such as experience, skills, training, location, certifications, education, and other factors permitted by law. Decisions will be made on a case-by-case basis. In addition to the base salary, this position may be eligible for performance-based incentives.
