SUMMARY
VTX Communications, LLC (VTXC) is seeking a strategic and results-driven Director of Operations to lead the company's operational functions throughout its service territory. This executive leadership role is responsible for overseeing network operations, outside plant activities, field services, technical operations, service delivery, operational efficiency, and employee safety.
The Director of Operations will provide leadership to operational teams, ensure reliable telecommunications and broadband services, support strategic growth initiatives, and drive continuous improvement across all operational functions. This position plays a critical role in aligning operational performance with the company's business objectives while maintaining high standards of service reliability, safety, and regulatory compliance.
Operations Leadership
- Direct and oversee daily operational activities across telecommunications and broadband service delivery functions.
- Develop and implement operational strategies that support company growth and long-term objectives.
- Establish performance standards, operational metrics, and accountability measures.
- Ensure efficient utilization of personnel, equipment, and resources.
- Monitor operational performance and identify opportunities for process improvements.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity and service delivery.
Network & Infrastructure Operations
- Coordinate the maintenance, reliability, and expansion of telecommunications and broadband plant infrastructure.
- Coordinate operational support for capital projects and network upgrades.
- Ensure plant assets are maintained in accordance with company standards and regulatory requirements.
- Partner with Engineering, Information Technology, and Technical Services teams to prioritize operational investments and enhancements.
Service Delivery & Field Operations
- Oversee installation, maintenance, repair, and restoration activities.
- Ensure timely delivery of customer services and operational support.
- Monitor service quality standards and operational response times.
- Collaborate with Customer Service and Technical Support teams to address operational service issues.
- Develop processes that improve the customer experience through operational excellence.
Safety & Regulatory Compliance
- Promote and maintain a strong safety culture throughout the organization.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations, company policies, and industry best practices.
- Monitor safety performance and implement corrective actions as necessary.
- Ensure operational activities comply with applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
- Support emergency response, disaster recovery, and business continuity planning.
Organizational Leadership
- Supervise and support operational managers and supervisors.
- Build a culture of accountability, teamwork, innovation, and service excellence.
- Provide coaching, mentoring, and leadership development opportunities.
- Conduct performance management activities and succession planning initiatives.
- Collaborate with executive leadership to align operational priorities with organizational goals.
Strategic Planning & Budget Management
- Participate in strategic planning efforts and operational forecasting.
- Develop and manage departmental budgets.
- Monitor expenditures and ensure responsible stewardship of company resources.
- Evaluate operational investments and recommend capital expenditures.
- Support organizational growth and expansion initiatives
- EDUCATION
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Telecommunications, Business Administration, Operations Management, or a related field preferred.
Equivalent combinations of education and relevant experience may be considered.
Skills Required
- Experience leading operations in telecommunications and broadband service delivery
- Experience overseeing network operations, outside plant, field services, and service delivery
- Proven leadership supervising managers and field teams, including coaching and performance management
- Knowledge of OSHA regulations, safety program development, and regulatory compliance
- Experience with strategic planning, budgeting, and capital expenditure evaluation
- Experience driving continuous improvement and operational performance metrics
- Ability to coordinate with Engineering, IT, and Technical Services for network investments and upgrades
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Telecommunications, Business Administration, Operations Management, or related field (or equivalent experience)
