The Director of Operations will oversee the Manufacturing of products, ensuring effective and efficient use of facilities and staff.

What Will You Do?  

In order to grow and build a successful career with The Toro Company, you will be responsible for:  

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • ​​​​Oversees and participates in the recruitment, hiring, directing and coaching of the manufacturing site staff.

  • Oversees Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost and Cash, and assignments in order to meet all business KPI’s.

  • Conducts performance evaluations that are timely and constructive.

  • Handles discipline of employees as needed and in accordance with company policy.

Other Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Responsible of all plant operations and oversees the manufacture of products, ensuring, safety, production, performance, and quality standards are consistently met.

  • Reviews production reports to ensure safety, quality, financial, and delivery goals and standards are met.

  • Ensures a healthy and safe working environment, and compliance with federal and state regulations, through collaboration with environmental, health, and safety staff.

  • Assists Regional Director with long-range operating goals, expansion efforts, and implementation of new and advanced technology.

  • Drives deployment of systems to meet Lean Principles and methodologies.

  • Identifies and shares training opportunities for staff to build and improve skills.

  • Organizes departmental management structure and teams for optimal, efficient operations.

  • Works with Finance manager to develop operating budget.

  • Delivers progress and production reports to executive team members as requested.

  • Supervises equipment purchase, maintenance, and layout.

  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

What Do You Need?  

To be considered for this role, an individual should meet the following minimal requirements:  

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, supply, chain, quality or related field.

  • ​At least seven years of experience at Director level in industrial management.

  • Lean and six sigma implementation experience.

  • ISO implementation.

  • Experience in consumer products (complete finish goods)

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Excellent organizational and managerial skills.

  • In-depth experience in lean implementation.

  • Extensive supply chain management.

  • Strong experience in flow and materials management.

  • Thorough understanding of the policies and practices used in the manufacturing division.

  • Ability to set long-term goals and communicate them to others.

  • Ability to motivate and organize multiple efforts to accomplish goals.

  • Competitive Salary – The pay range takes into account skills, experience, education, and location. It is not common to be hired at or near the top of the range; compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the annual pay range is between $182,100.00 - $227,600.00​. Cash compensation is one piece of our competitive total rewards package. You may be eligible to participate in an incentive program, which rewards employees based on individual and organizational performance.
