The Director of Operations Strategy leads operational strategy and execution across PMO, integration, capacity planning, and business continuity to drive business priorities and scalable growth. It owns roadmap development, business case prioritization, and strategic program execution while advancing AI enablement and data science capabilities to support smart manufacturing.
This position reports to the Vice President, Global Operations and is part of the Global Operations, and will be an on-site role at one of the following locations: Coralville, IA; Fargo, ND; Madison, WI; Raleigh, NC; Boulder, CO or San Diego, CA.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
- Drive end-to-end project execution for key operational priorities, including site-based initiatives such as Fargo and other critical business programs.
- Develop and manage the operational strategy roadmap, aligning cross-functional priorities with business objectives, growth plans, and enterprise goals.
- Lead integration planning and execution for major operational initiatives, ensuring seamless coordination across teams, processes, and systems.
- Prioritize and evaluate business cases to guide investment decisions, resource allocation, and strategic focus across the operations portfolio.
- Advance AI enablement and data science capabilities by identifying and scaling smart manufacturing opportunities that improve operational performance and accelerate innovation.
The essential requirements of the job include:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, or a related field with 10+ years of progressive experience in strategy, operations, program management, or business transformation preferred; advanced degree preferred.
- Several years of people leadership experience with a demonstrated ability to lead and develop high-performing teams in a complex, matrixed environment.
- Proven success leading multiple cross-functional strategic initiatives or enterprise programs with measurable business impact in a manufacturing, life sciences, or similarly complex operating environment.
- Demonstrated experience developing and executing multi-year operational roadmaps, prioritizing business cases, and driving decisions tied to investment, capacity, or growth objectives.
- Experience leading integration planning, business continuity, and long-range capacity planning for large-scale operations or multi-site environments.
- Hands-on experience sponsoring or implementing AI, smart manufacturing, digital, or data science initiatives that improved operational performance, efficiency, or decision-making.
- Strong executive communication and stakeholder management skills, with a track record of influencing senior leaders across functions and sites to deliver strategic outcomes.
Travel, Motor Vehicle Record & Physical/Environment Requirements:
- Ability to travel approximately 35% to support project dependent on location based
It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:
- Experience in regulated manufacturing environments such as life sciences, biotechnology, diagnostics, or pharmaceuticals.
- Experience leading digital transformation, smart manufacturing, or advanced analytics initiatives within operations.
- Experience supporting network optimization, new product introduction, or supply chain strategy in a multi-site environment.

This job is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay.
The annual salary range for this role is 170K-215K. This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. This range may be modified in the future.
