SCOPE OF POSITION:

The Director of Operations is responsible for the successful operations of the property. The ideal leader will oversee all operational areas of the property in accordance with the organizational structure, be responsible for the financial performance of the property, ensure proper compliance, and manage in accordance with the standards and expectations of Comanche Nation Entertainment. Additionally, the Director of Operations must ensure all aspects of operations are conducted as efficiently and effectively as possible in order to maximize profit potential. The leader must perform all functions in accordance with Tribal, Federal, applicable laws and gaming regulations statutes, the Comanche Nation Entertainment’s mission statement and objectives of the organization, as well as established policies, procedures and controls.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

The following are significant duties and are not intended to be all-inclusive or restrictive.

  • Develops and implements effective strategies designed to maximize long-term value and cash flows.
  • Ensures cash flow meets or exceeds expectations while prudently utilizing available resources.
  • Provides support and leadership direction to Team Members at the property.
  • Participates in the strategic planning and annual budgeting with the COO and Comanche Nation Entertainment Leadership.
  • Responsible for regulatory compliance of the property, enforcement of policies and procedures, and adherence to all applicable laws.
  • Reviews financial trends, marketing and slot analysis, financial reports, ratios and budgets, and provides guidance or direction to departmental managers and leaders in operating their departments in an effective and efficient manner in accordance to the objectives set forth by the Board of Directors.
  • Facilitates the flow of information throughout the property by organizing and presiding over regularly scheduled meetings with the members of leadership team.
  • Ensures all employees are treated fairly and that the workplace is a safe and productive environment.
  • Makes recommendations for capital improvements that maximize return on investment in annual budgeting process.
  • Manages in a manner that promotes presence, visibility, guest service, Team Member morale, and the safety and security of the guests and staff.
  • Creates opportunities for Team Member development through various training initiatives.
  • Exercises good judgment and strong moral fiber in all dealings, whether on or off property.
  • Provides a fun and dynamic customer experience focused on “high value” entertainment and hospitality. Through teamwork and the embodiment of high Comanche Nation Entertainment standards, the Director of Operations will maximize property potential, providing for the future of the Comanche Nation.
  • The Director of Operations will serve in the capacity of Manager on Duty (MOD) as needed.
  • Will attend to other duties as assigned by Chief Operating Officer.
PHYSICAL/ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:

The Director of Operations regularly engages in conversations; regularly required to remain in a stationary position 50 percent of the time. Work is performed throughout all areas of the facility where the noise level varies from quiet to loud depending upon business. This position must work evenings, weekends, and holidays and be able to work in a smoke-filled environment. QualificationsREQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND COMPETENCIES:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Hotel Management, Finance, or related area from a four-year college or university, or ten years of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Strong leadership, communication, conflict resolution, organizational, and decision- making skills.
  • Must be able and willing to work evenings, weekends, and holidays and be able to work in a smoke-filled environment. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND COMPETENCIES:
  • Demonstrated experience leading organizational change, strategic planning, and operational improvement initiatives.
  • Executive leadership experience in the gaming, hospitality, entertainment, or resort industry.

 

Skills Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Hotel Management, Finance, or related, or ten years of related experience or equivalent combination
  • Knowledge of gaming regulations, tribal and federal laws, and regulatory compliance
  • Strong leadership, communication, conflict resolution, organizational, and decision-making skills
