The Director of Operational Finance serves as a strategic finance leader, responsible for aligning financial planning and performance management with core operational functions, including supply chain, and inventory. This role is accountable for driving financial visibility, cost efficiency, and operational excellence through strong business partnership and data-driven decision-making. Reporting directly to the CFO, the Director will lead a high-impact team and collaborate closely with executive leadership to support both short-term execution and long-term strategic initiatives.

In This Role

Operational Finance Leadership & Financial Stewardship 

  • Own the vision, strategy, and execution of the Operational Finance function, with primary accountability across:
    • Supply Chain Finance (distribution, logistics, transportation, warehousing)
    • Inventory (valuation, accuracy, turns, and reconciliation)
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to the CFO and executive team by translating operational performance into forward-looking financial insights and risk-aware recommendations
  • Drive alignment between operational execution and financial outcomes to enable scalable, profitable growth 

 Supply Chain & Operational Finance 

  • Provide strategic financial leadership across supply chain and logistics to identify cost efficiencies, optimize network design, and support capacity and volume planning 
  • Partner closely with Operations, Logistics, and Production leaders to evaluate tradeoffs between cost, service levels, and inventory investment
  • Deliver timely, data-driven insights on operational performance to inform day-to-day and long-range decisions 

 Inventory Control  

  • Oversee inventory control and valuation processes to ensure financial accuracy, operational integrity, and strong internal controls 
  • Strengthen alignment between physical inventory movement, systems 

 Leadership & Team Management 

  • Lead and mentor team to align with Four Hands’ strategic objectives   
  • Facilitate effective communication and collaboration among team members, encouraging the sharing of ideas and best practices to drive innovation and successful implementation of digital solutions  
  • Foster individual growth and skill enhancement through regular feedback, training sessions, and professional development opportunities  
  • Collaboratively establish clear, measurable goals for the team that align with broader organizational objectives, ensuring accountability and focus  
  • Monitor progress towards goals through regular check-ins and performance reviews, providing constructive feedback and guidance to help the team achieve their targets  
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement by encouraging team members to analyze performance outcomes, identify areas for enhancement, and propose innovative solutions to overcome challenges  
  • Develop and manage the department’s budget, ensuring efficient allocation of resources and alignment with business priorities  
  • Develop and implement strategies to achieve departmental and organizational objectives  
  • Evaluate industry trends and leverage insights to drive innovation and maintain a competitive edge  
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, both internal and external, to facilitate collaboration and alignment

The Ideal Person

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (MBA or CPA preferred) 
  • 10+ years of progressive finance experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership role supporting operations
  • Experience in manufacturing or distribution environments strongly preferred
  • Proven ability to lead and develop high-performing teams
  • Strong analytical, communication, and business partnering skills
