Position Summary:
- Oversee and direct nursing services through the person-centered care philosophy and in accordance with current federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations.
- Direct and manage Medical Records & Central Supply Coordinator, and Assisted Living nursing functions.
- Collaborate with the Medical Director; attending physicians, consulting physicians and Nurse Practitioners regarding the delivery of care.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Direct and manage staff: select, hire, train, counsel, schedule, educate and assure performance and morale; provide developmental feedback; evaluate department structure and roles to assure efficiency and effectiveness, and provide professional growth opportunities.
- Direct nursing services and programs to support implementation of Eliza Jennings’ (Network) strategic plan and achievement of its mission.
- Assist in the development and maintenance of nursing policies and procedures.
- Design and implement clinical systems and processes; develop auditing and monitoring systems and processes to assure regulatory compliance and achieve desired quality outcomes.
- Provide input to annual operating budget, making recommendations for necessary staffing and other departmental expenses. Prepare and manage budget, monitor expenses and analyze and resolve variances.
- Assure provision of adequate clinical staffing to assure quality of care and resident satisfaction.
- Oversee the collaboration of the MDS assessment process and required care plans and meetings.
- Assure timely communication with families; oversee and/or participate in family care conferences.
- Coordinate clinical planning for residents being discharged.
- Oversee and/or review clinical records for admissions.
- Actively participate on risk management team including reporting potential issues and making recommendations to reduce risk.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in nursing; Registered Nurse
- In-depth knowledge of aging services with certifications in specialized areas.
- Knowledge of hospice care, memory support services and rehabilitation.
- Knowledge of Medicare/Medicaid reimbursement
