Comprehensive Life Resources is looking for a qualified Nursing Director to join our youth residential facility in Tacoma, WA.

Function: The Nursing Director provides strategic leadership and executive oversight of all nursing and medical services at Pearl Youth Residence (CLIP), ensuring the delivery of safe, high-quality, neuro-affirming, and trauma-informed care for adolescents in a residential behavioral health setting.
The Nursing Director partners with organizational leadership to advance care quality, ensure patient safety, optimize outcomes, and strengthen interdisciplinary collaboration, while fostering a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and evidence-based practice.
Responsibilities:
- Provide strategic and operational leadership for all nursing and medical services, ensuring delivery of safe, high-quality, trauma-informed care in a residential behavioral health setting.
- Establish and maintain clinical standards of practice, ensuring alignment with evidence-based care and organizational expectations.
- Ensure adherence to evidence-based practices and supporting staff during high-acuity and crisis situations, offering direct clinical oversight including emergency medication administration.
- Work closely with the Medical Director to align nursing and psychiatric services, ensuring continuity of care across the full treatment continuum, including admission, treatment, and discharge transitions.
- Ensure organizational compliance and survey readiness, maintaining alignment with all regulatory and accreditation standards.
- Drive accountability for clinical documentation integrity, incident management, and corrective action planning.
- Oversee infection prevention, safety, and Environment of Care programs, ensuring alignment with regulatory standards and organizational risk management priorities.
- Lead workforce strategy for nursing services, including staffing models, recruitment, retention, and succession planning.
- Develop and oversee nursing staff performance and engagement, including onboarding, training, competency validation, and performance management.
- Champion quality improvement and performance outcomes, utilizing data and key indicators to drive clinical excellence and continuous improvement.
- Partner with executive and program leadership to align medical services with organizational goals, support integrated care delivery, and strengthen interdisciplinary collaboration.
- Ensure clinical leadership and support across a 24-hour, 7-day residential program, establishing systems, on-call structures, and leadership presence to maintain consistent care, staff support, and clinical decision-making at all times.
- In addition to the above, perform other duties as assigned.
Competencies:
- Demonstrates ability to assess and document urgent and ongoing medical issues associated with residents

- Strong medical knowledge and familiarity with common and diverse medical conditions
- Strong clinical decision and triaging related to urgent medical issues
- Knowledge of psychiatric and behavioral health treatment for youth Leadership, supervision, and team development

- Ability to work in a fast-paced residential treatment environment
- Trauma-informed and recovery-oriented care approach
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required; Masters preferred
- Current, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in Washington
- Minimum 3 years nursing experience (behavioral health preferred) and 1 year in a clinical leadership or supervisory role. Experience working with youth and/or individuals with serious mental health needs preferred.
- Annual flu shot and TB shot verification annually.
- The ability to be certified in Handle with Care verbal de-escalation and physical restraint strategies.
- Valid driver’s license required; proof of insurance.
