The Director of North America Finance for Emerson's Pressure Management (PRM) business is based in McKinney, Texas, and provides financial leadership and strategic partnership across the World Area. This role is responsible for overseeing financial performance, including P&L and balance sheet management, while supporting business growth and operational objectives. The Finance Director collaborates closely with the North America leadership team, plant Finance Managers, and General Managers across the region to drive financial excellence, compliance, and informed decision-making. The position also leads a team of four to five direct reports.

IN THIS ROLE, YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES WILL BE: 

  • Direct and lead financial reporting for North America in accordance with Emerson Corporate Policies & Procedures, as well as US GAAP and local accounting standards.  
  • Establish and monitor the necessary accounting systems, practices and internal controls.
  • Direct overall financial planning and analysis activities for North America:
    • Monitor and review monthly financial results; analyze variances and bridge from forecast to actual results.
    • Lead preparation of quarterly financial forecast (President’s Operating Report) and present plan to President and CFO of PRM; present regular updates discussing financial results, pace of business and any other relevant topics as needed.
    • Work with NA Sales and Operations leaders to set long-term financial plans in support of Planning Conference, Profit Review, and President’s Councils as needed or required. 
    • Lead annual budget process for NA World Area and ensure linkage between site-level plans and financial commitments for NA and present the plan to BU leadership. 
  • Act as a consultant and trusted advisor to the management team and recommend alternative courses of action to achieve desired financial results; understand the business drivers.
  • Conduct site visits to NA locations 1-2 times per year and attend Operations Reviews with NA VP Operations.
  • Direct completion of North America Internal Control Questionnaires (ICQ), which require quarterly update and certification.
  • Advise plant management and business unit leaders on short-term and long-term financial objectives, policies, and actions. 
  • Drive culture of efficiency and continuous improvement within the NA Finance function and leverage next generation financial tools.
  • Partner and collaborate with NA Sales and Operations continuously to achieve financial targets.

FOR THIS ROLE, YOU WILL NEED: 

 

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance 
  • 10+ years progressive experience, including leadership of Financial Planning and Analysis
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills
  • High standards of accuracy and precision; highly organized
  • Articulate with excellent verbal and written communication skills 
  • Ability to think creatively, highly driven and self-motivated  
  • Experience managing and developing direct reports, with strong leadership and team development skills
  • Intellectually curious with a demonstrated ability to roll-up sleeves and work with team members in a hands-on management capacity
  • Experience in managing and developing direct reports
  • Legal Authorization to work in the United States – sponsorship will not be provided for this role

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS THAT SET YOU APART: 

 

  • MBA and/or CPA strongly preferred

  • Prior Emerson experience preferred
  • Experience in manufacturing environment preferred
