We're looking for a driven, experienced business development leader to build and own Lemonade's multifamily residential channel. You will be responsible for securing strategic relationships with property management companies, asset owners, proptech platforms, and HOA management firms — driving national distribution of Lemonade's renters insurance products at scale.
Multifamily is one of Lemonade's highest-leverage growth channels, and this is a foundational hire to lead it. Reporting to the Head of Partnerships, you'll define our go-to-market approach, sign anchor deals with leading players across the ecosystem, and build the playbook that scales the channel. In year one, you'll be expected to close deals that deliver meaningful revenue, and lay the strategic foundation — this role is equal parts execution and architecture.
We believe two things matter for every leadership role at Lemonade: leadership that sets the bar for excellence, builds high performing teams, and holds them accountable, and strategy that thinks several years ahead and turns ambitious plans into reality. These aren't buzzwords, they're how we actually work.
Our AI-first approach isn't just a tagline either. We're building the future of insurance with AI at the center, and we need people who are genuinely excited to learn and grow alongside these tools.
Sign strategic partnerships across the multifamily ecosystem — national property managers, REITs and asset owners, and proptech platforms — to drive national distribution of Lemonade Renters, Pet, Car, and Homeowners products
Define and execute our multifamily go-to-market strategy, including partner segmentation, commercial model, and channel playbook, working closely with senior leadership
Represent Lemonade at key trade shows and conferences, lead C-level conversations, and build our reputation as the insurance partner of choice in the multifamily space
Build and manage a healthy national pipeline across property management, proptech, REIT, and asset owner segments
Lead complex, multi-stakeholder deals from first conversation through contract, integration, launch, and ongoing partner performance
Grow the team — with potential to inherit a direct report from day one, and a mandate to scale as the channel does
Define and track channel KPIs, and bring market insights back to product and leadership to sharpen our roadmap and competitive positioning
5+ years of business development, sales, or partnerships experience within the multifamily residential industry — this is a firm requirement
A strong existing network across the multifamily ecosystem — property managers, REITs, proptech platforms, and asset owners — that you can activate from day one
A proven track record of closing complex, high-value partnerships and building distribution channels from early stages to real revenue
Experience as a senior external spokesperson — leading C-level conversations, speaking at industry events, and building brand presence in a market
Experience managing and developing at least one direct report, with a player-coach mentality and the ability to scale a team
Existing relationships with proptech platforms like Yardi, Entrata, RealPage, or Knock — a major plus
MBA or advanced degree — a plus
Genuine enthusiasm for AI and a commitment to learning how it can transform the way you work
Ready to work in our Soho office 3 days per week
