Job Description
Position Summary:
Responsible for managing the master business production scheduling and planning for the organization. Ensures operations are efficient, deadlines are met. Achieve Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), such as On-Time Delivery (OTD) and inventory management.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Maintain resource loaded integrated master business schedules and oversee a department of Operational planning & scheduling professionals.
- Business tie breaker. Over customer and functional area business decision related to schedules.
- Maintaining detailed project schedules for numerous projects by aligning production schedules with customer deadlines.
- Collaborate with PM’s, management, Project Controls and production staff to adjust schedules.
- Anticipate delays by closely working with estimating team to ensure the availability of resources, labor, equipment, and contractors to meet deadlines.
- Analyze schedule performance, identify potential delays, and recommend corrective action.
- Develop and maintain the logic, activities, constraints, and milestones to provided fully integrated Engineering, Procurement, Operational and Field Service project schedules.
- Mitigate risk by identifying potential challenges that may impact schedules; develop contingency plans to minimize delays and ensure project progress.
- Create and maintain master schedule to regularly track project milestones and progress against the schedule.
- Manage reports and import/export project data to systems.
- Build long-term production plans using data analytics to ensure material flow and production optimization.
- Lean Manufacturing Implementation: Proficiency in Lean principles and the ability to drive continuous improvement initiatives that reduce waste, optimize material flow, and enhance factory productivity.
Qualifications
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in construction management, Operations Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 10 or more years’ experience production planning, scheduling, or similar role withing fabrication environment.
- Proficiency in Epicor ERP systems for scheduling and MS Office.
- Proficiency with Primavera P6 scheduling software.
- Proficiency with BI capabilities and fact-based analytics
- Knowledge of critical path method of scheduling
- Understanding of industrial structural fabrication processes and planning principles.
- Understanding of industrial Large CNC machining processes and planning principles
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
- Excellent communication and people skills.
- Detail oriented with a strong focus on accuracy and efficiency.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage tight deadlines.
- APICS -CPIM certification a plus.
Key Success Factors:
- Customer On-Time Delivery (OTD): Achieving and maintaining high levels of OTD is critical for success in this role. Ensuring that production schedules meet customer delivery requirements is essential.
- Production Efficiency: Ability to streamline production processes and optimize factory workflows to ensure seamless operations and timely output.
- Inventory Management: Coordinate with Supply Chain to effectively monitor and plan of inventory to ensure material availability without overstocking, which can lead to inefficiencies.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Success in this role requires the ability to work closely and collaboratively with operations, supply chain, Project Controls, Project management teams to align schedules and resolve any bottlenecks.
- Data-Driven Decision Making: Ability to use data analytics to develop long-term production plans and adjust schedules based on changing factors such as customer demand and material availability.
Licenses or Certifications Required
- APICS-CPIM Certification a plus
